Hi guys, wondering if anyone else has a similar story, I'm sure you do.

Using circles properly for the first time today for bream and have to say they work well.

Had a take and a small run, then snap! Thought a flattie chopped me off.

About a half hour later, another take and up comes a nice bream with the circle hook I lost earlier!

Pretty satisfied getting my hook back haha.post-23552-0-95643200-1409567176_thumb.jpg

Hooked a kingy off the breakwall once. Awesome fight for a lb fisho. Took a while to land and with help from another fisho. Well over legal and I was quite pleased. Only to find he had about 6 hooks in his mouth and a few bits of leader. Couldn't keep him after seeing what his been through. Removed all the hooks and let him swim away! Even writing this still makes me smile. :)

Cheers scratchie!!!

I live water front on the harbour and before school when I was much younger I casted out this squid soft plastics that I got in the bargain bin at a tackle shop. I hooked up to a nice 50cm flathead and pulled it up the small boat ramp the line snapped half way and I went sliding down the slippery ramp after it I grabbed it but is spiked me so I dropped and it slid just of the end of the ramp. That afternoon I got the same lure and the next day I went back down cast into the same spot same lure and bam I was in this time use a net bring it up and there it is two of the same lures hanging out the mouth of a 50cm flathead caught in the same spot with the same lure at the same time of day. I was amazed

Fishing for whiting at Crescent, I was late for live worms at the servo and had to use salted.

When I finally got a fish it already had a hook in its mouth with a piece of live worm still wriggling.

I kept the fish, used the worm, and caught another.

So much for the B/S we get told on the fishing shows about how the hook will dissolve in a few days and fall out,

We hooked a fish on a bibbed xrap a couple of months back while trolling for fin, we trolled a bit to try and hook another, then cleared the teaser and the other corner, and the fish is not fighting much.

Then it came to the boat and didn't look quite right. We caught the alby we had just filleted and dropped over the transom!

Thought the same. But after thinking about it, these kings school around here for about a month and that's when I target them. He may have just been a pig. Something I'll never forget though!

Yes I have!!!

Many years back in the UK I was competition fishing when my father about 50 meters on the other side of the lake lost a big BEAUTIFUL carp about 12lb after a 15 minute fight. It snapped his "Pole Rig" (to anyone who doesnt know this is about 2 meters long of line with a tiny stick float leading down to a hook.

About 2 hours later a float appeared next to mine and kept swimming around it for 10 minutes, I caught a couple of Carp in the mean time and kept loading in the bait to keep them interested, Then I hooked the Carp and had a tame 3 minute scrap with it. Once landed i removed my Dads whole rig and my hook, had it weighed and released and then walked over to my old man to give him his rig back.

We always thought a caught fish would never eat so soon and be nervous to bite, but this fish was scoffing bait just 2 hours after.

Another time i caught the same fish in a lake twice in 12 hours during an over night session one at 6pm and once at 6am and then again a week later. We knew it was the same one as it was a very rare Ghost Koi Mirror Carp at 15lb which was only stocked a year previous.

I've also caught many trout on the fly with other flies in their gobs!

Think about this... If we had a similar incident happen to us would we still want to eat? Like having a tooth removed or knocked out, if we're hungry then we'd still eat as soon as possible, I supose the difference is Fish dont have dentists to tell them not to eat!

Hooked a tailor many years ago in Yowie Bay, using 2 long shank 3/0 hooks ganged together with a strip of yellowtail on 6 pound line. Bitten off shortly after the hookup.

About 1 hour later, with the same ganged hook setup and a strip of yellowtail, hooked another tailor but landed this one, weighed 2 pound (around the 45cm mark)

Inside his mouth was 2 ganged 3/0 hooks with a strip of yellowtail, not chewed up or damaged, attached to a short piece of chewed line, about 6 pound.

Willing to bet my 'left one' it was the fish I lost earlier that morning.
