Got out on Monday for a fish finally after a long layoff.

I took my nephew with me and asked him if he prefer this or school? I guess judging by the pic he prefers this.

Anchored near costens point, deployed the berley, set the rods with various baits and within 10min we had this fat little bream on the rod with the peeled prawn that was sent back to fight another day.

Just as my Nephew went to put my phone away, it slipped out of his hand,and smashed the screen against the boat.

Bloody hell, oh well accidents happen.

Anyway, we caught 2 more keeper bream and headed to the old ruins in SWA.

Again we burleyed, set baits, and within a short time had a few tailor, trevally, and a nice little snapper that went 42cm when measured.

These fish smacked the pilly, squid and pilchard baits in that order.

After about an hour the bit slowed so we headed over to my favourite jacket spot around Grahams point bay.

Again we deployed the berley, set the 2 hook patternoster rig, baited one with a smidge of peeled prawn, the other with a dash of squid and within a short period of time we had hooked about 20.

By now we'd had enough so decided to have our lunch anchored in the SWA before heading to the ramp bound for home.

All fish caught on 8lb mono fished either as a running sinker or patternoster in the case of the jackets, down to a longshank size6 hook on long leaders with as little weight as we could get away with.

All in all a good day to be out on the water other than my nephew breaking my phone.

Oh well as old Hinchy would say, that's life!

Thanks to those that replied thus far.

My Nephew breaking the phone was nothing compared to the blast we had.

These gorgeous sunny days we get in winter are my favourite time to be out there, less people, less heat,my best fish have come out in winter and in my opinion sitting in the SWA on the pick enjoying a meal and the surroundings is pure bliss.
