Crossfire63 Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 Once they've been lapped in teamed up with Carbon fibre washers they are as smooth as silk. I've mainly done it on Tiagra's, Penn Internationals and Everoll's but no reason to believe that it wouldn't work on smaller reels as well Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If they are completely flat and smooth, s/s or brass does probably not make a lot of difference. I tend to agree. As long as the metal washers are flat, s/s or brass are an each way bet. I've read testimonials from people who have replaced their felt washers with Carbonex and they say that not only does the Carbonex make all the difference, but the improvement is HUGE! I've lapped all my stainless steel washers now and I can tell you that they all needed it. The drags are much better now, but I'm ordering a sheet of Carbonex and complete the process of upgrading the drags. Then, all I will need is a co-operative fish to test them out.
