VViCKiD
Hi guys, the other day I was out at Browns and noticed my electric reel was coppin a fair amount of sea spray. After wards, the battery terminals were displaying some corrosion. Just wondering how everyone prevents this on their gear? Cheers
bobakers
Hi I just wipe everything over with inox spray at the end of the day and make sure the I keep the terminal contact areas clean. Regards Bob
VViCKiD
Do you do anything to reduce its exposure to sea spray ?
Guest 4myson
The best way to clean the corrosion off the terminals is a aerosol known as Contact Cleaner , Avialable through all spare parts place like SUPACRAP & RIP OFF REPCO .
Ric001
Jaycar has contact cleaner and as Its not selling to the rev heads it is more reasonable priced. White scotchbrite and a bit of brasso works wonders on electrical terminals. I Used to use it for cleaning hv contacts and switchgear, as it tends to polish the contacts rather than cutting them.
