0 Houdini
I agree Wirrah but not western are you taking the piss frank?
0 frankS
Very rare catch in the eastern side of Australia. That is a Western Wirrah, cousin to the very common Eastern Wirrah I think that is the female version. Only grow to about 50 cm where the eastern Wirrah grow larger. 0 frankS
The Western has 2 black bars behind the eye ( just visable ), the eastern does not have these markings. Frank
0 Blackfish
I'm going to take a punt and only a punt, as always I'm happy to be wrong. But could it be a Yellowbanded Wirrah Acanthistius cinctus. But with a certain phase in markings. Male,Female, Juvenile etc. Now the only reason I say this is I don't believe a Western Wirrah comes over this way.

0 Day's Fishin
It's a Wirrah Cod (old boot) common catch. Crap to catch and worse to eat. Jeff
