Ryder
I've fished almost exclusively for blackfish for over a year now. I remember my last flick was with Gianni at Iron Cove, NYE 2014. After a tough week at work, overtime, and early fishing on the weekend I wasn't going to make the 4:30 am start today. I decided to dust off the plastics rod, and head down to Tarban for the runout tide. The water was brown, like the Lane Cove was yesterday, still a lot of fresh water around. The wind was up a bit and I started with Bassday Sugapen. I worked it and paused hoping for bream, I got a few follows and a strike or 2 from tiny fish, but no takes. I switched over to plastics. It's been so long, some of the Gulps had completely dried out, and others had gone mouldy. So I tried a 4 inch Powerbait minnow. Casting around the drop off at the mouths of the creek, I got a few small hits, the BANG. I'm on, not a huge fish but it put up a fight taking a bit of line. I got him to the wall, grabbed the leader and made the lift. He spat the hook mid air along with his lunch and landed on the grass at my feet. A quick measure, a snap and he went back in. 47cm It was good to wipe away the cobwebs. Cheers Ryder
DYMAN
Well done Ryder, it`s always good to change it up from time to time, it helps break the monotony and help realise there is other species besides the Blackfish :-)
Stapo
Nice one Andrew. It's a lot more work flicking those plastics than watching that float. Both are good fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
