Does anyone else own racehorses or enjoy a punt? I have a couple of handy ones running around lately and enjoy a windy Saturday arvo at the RSL watching races when I cant fish or get to the track so thought I'd see if anyone else might be keen for an afternoon on the punt when the weather keeps us off the water.

Hey mate, I would love too but geography plays it part! I've been following the ponies since I was too young and after working at the casino for 11 years I met many a race owner! One that sticks in my mind is the owner of "racing to win". I won't divulge his name but he's tipped me many of winners.

Good luck though because it's like fishing! Anyone can be successful on their day! And you always remember those good days!

Cheers scratchie!!!

We have owned horses for years. This is my wife's horse Gai she's an 8 yr old thoroughbred.Ex Gai Waterhouse as she was not cut out for racing and an expert at eating the farriers lunch.post-20199-0-04255400-1440683752_thumb.jpgThis is my horse Huckleberry,he gets bullied by the mares an has a gorgeous temperament.post-20199-0-02538800-1440683953_thumb.jpgAll our horses are experts at keeping the family broke(we have 5)and yes we do like to have a punt on the horses/dogs but we lose more than we win so I don't think you'd want tips from us.

Cheers.

Between owning a boat and 3 horses there isn't much disposable income left!! But yes, Saturday arvo down the bowlo with a beer and a trifecta or two, is not a bad way to spend a windy day....................

Sorry Bessel I missed your post . Unanimously finished at the tail. It was his first race after a long break due to injury and didn't wont to run him into the ground first up. He certainly needed the run and the whole raceday experience. Fell Swoop had his first attempt the Melbourne way of going and while he made a few mistakes still he won by 2 lengths and was backed in from $3.20 to $2.50 on the day.

I have another one tomorrow. Sebrina running Saturday at Rosehill in the third. Much fitter after that first run and stepping up to the 1500 will help her. Personally I think she's the best horse in the race but will have to carry 60 kg from a wide barrier. Hopefully her ability and having Joao Moreira onboard can overcome the difficulties and see her right up in the finish. She opened at $16 Wednesday and into $9 this morning so obviously others like her chances too.

What a bonus!

So I'm not a gambler but was tempted. As at work I signed up with a bookie online and got $100 at 11:1

As it processed it said I had a free matched bet as a reward.

The odds have shortened to 9 but as a free $100 no worries

So I've managed $100 at 20:1!!!

Go Sabrina
