Rah
G'day Raiders, My folks just bought a property down in Berry and Broughton Mill Creek runs through it. I Know its freshwater and looks potentially fishy. Has anyone fished the area? Could the creek be to "small" to hold fish? It is quite narrow only a couple of metres wide and in some areas its only ankle deep and some way to deep to walk through with very minimal access that isn't going to land me in the drink with all my gear. I have done a fairly extensive internet search and cant find much info. Id like to fish walking distance from my folks place as ill be installing the beer kegs very soon. Ha Ha Had a bit of an explore with the kids the other weekend but was hard going with 3 year olds. Had a flick with a 2" grub early morning for nothing. My casting needs some serious attention when it comes to these very snaggy tree lined areas though. Should I not waste my time in this kind of area and just head to the Shoalhaven river? Any ideas or info would be fantastic. Cheers Tara
ambrose607
You could buy a cheap yabby trap and try for them. They would go well with what's in the kegs.

big Neil
Rah mate. My advice would be to use the creek as a secondary option and focus (mostly) on the Shoalhaven. There's plenty of good fish in the Shoalhaven and surrounding saltwater areas to keep you busy for a long time. Also don't forget that you need to allocate time to the kegs...HIC. Rah
Thanks Big Neil, Heading to the Brew shop on Saturday, need to decide on top or door mounted taps. Might just have to have a flick in the Shoalhaven on the way back too. Cheers Tara
Witha
Mate if it's fresh and looks fishy they'res probably bass in there try running a plastic like a zman grub or small paddle tail with a jig spinner (bets spin), they will be in the smallest little creeklets it doesn't bother them. Keen to hear how you go! Hard to go past the shoal haven though!
Rah
Thanks Witha, Will keep the creek for dawn fishing I think then. Have never used a jig spinner before. Will give anything a go though. Thanks for the tips. Cheers Tara
rozza_b
Plenty of bass in all the creeks around berry, a lot of my mates spend heaps of time in the arvos after work hunting round in those creeks, they catch bass all the up to foxhound where the steams are pretty tiny, ask around town I'm sure you'll find some info
