Belligero Posted January 29, 2015 Share Posted January 29, 2015 Hi All, Unfortunately not my catch however a fellow fishing club member caught this 23kg Marlin last Sunday 25/01/2015 by Di Brown 66yr old retired grandmother fishing for Gosford RSL Fishing Club in the Brisbane Water combined fishing clubs comp (which she won)! She was targeting Snapper and got this instead! Anchored at broken bay wide in 80mts of water using a light spin rod & egg beater reel with a snapper rig (patanosta). Bait was old brined full pilchards for bait. The fish grabbed the bait about 1/2 way to the bottom then the fight was on. The fight took 3/4hrs!
