Belligero Posted December 18, 2014 Share Posted December 18, 2014 Hi All,Last weekend the weather was a joke! Large swell and high winds made it pretty crappy to be on the water. Sunday wasn't as bad as predicted but still not great.This weekend is looking far better with very low swell in the mornings & light winds with a great matching tide.I'm hoping to hit the stones at Pearl Beach early Saturday morning for bream and on Sunday I hope to take the boat out to the reefs.Where are you all headed? It appears to be the bung drainage screws but I will know better after the next session. I am heading up to Lake Mac in the morning to catch up with my brother in law and try our luck. Pulbah Island might be worth a try according to other reports. I will be putting the boat in at Gwandalan!! On Sunday I will try to get out to West Reef if I can work out my new sounder. The swell was too rough for any outside fishing in my tinnie so i had to be content with fishing inside the bay. There are plenty of tailor about though. Ryder Posted December 21, 2014 Share Posted December 21, 2014 I'm back home. Saturday we fished the harbour not the stones, had 11 in the bag which disappeared when the rope snapped. This morning went solo, got 10 blackfish, kept 4 for Jewie bait. Hit narrabeen for the evening high, strong wind, but managed to get bitten of twice. Decided to troll over to west reef. Whilst trolling there were massive bust ups in every direction. I managed to get a bonito. My first ever plus my first ever fish while trolling. Other then that it was very quiet at the reefs. Few just under size snapper and red rock cod. water temp 21.5Plenty of boats out chasing kings.Not the best result however it was a very large tide & the trawlers have been smashing broken bay lately.PS, If you want a free anchor try around box head.
