  1. A message from your wife/partner

Toughen up Baz! Your sounding embarrassing. You obviously haven’t learnt to suck up as good as I have! Haha
  2. G’day raiders, Just a quick report from this morning. Took junior and his mate out this morning for a quick session. Fished my usual snapper grounds and they didn’t disappoint! Sps only! Managed 6 legal snapper on the first drift ranging from 45-65cm. Lost a beauty boat side to a failed net attempt! We realeased the rest on the following drifts. I still have 10kg of Spanish Mack in the freezer. Thought it would be fun for the boys if we trolled for a bit. They ended landing more than 12 bonito and some big buggers too. We had plenty double hook ups! Call it’s quits after 2 hours and headed home! Cheers scratchie!!!

Worth the trip Jon! We released quite a few too! There was one larger model I would have liked a photo with though! But that’s fishing!

  8. Port Stephens- snapper season approaching!

That’s why he’s probably one of the best fishos I know! Always ready and prepared for anything! Just look at his success rate! No matter where he fished fresh or salt! I’ve Learnt a lot from the old fella!
  9. Port Stephens- snapper season approaching!

I said 2 hours not 2 minutes BN! thanks mate, the key to it is the 6 P theory! Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance! Having everything rigged to go and plan in hand can make a huge difference to the outcome of your day!
  10. Port Stephens- snapper season approaching!

Thanks regan! Considering my sons mate is allergic to fish which was challenging, they had a great day! Cheers mate! My kids love it!

  12. Port Stephens- snapper season approaching!

Thanks! Definitely a bit colder than it has been Cheers! Tried them every way known to man. Still a taste I can’t acquire. Good bait though! Cheers rick! They are still around for sure! Just not yesterday. Tuna birds still working hard.
  13. Port Stephens- snapper season approaching!

Mate, the water was way too cold at 20.1 deg. Couldn’t find as much bait has there has been in recent weeks. But the snapper were chewing their heads off! First light is the best time!
  14. Sydney Bottom Bash

  16. G’day raiders, I was supposed to head out with berleyguts today but after an exchange of texts baz couldn’t make it after the storm we had the other day! I got up at 6am (usual) and had a look off the balcony. A bit blowy but beautiful seas. Finished my coffee, woke the kids up and said, that’s it we’re going fishing! Was on the water by 8am. The plan for today was to just troll the snapper sticks around and introduce the youngest two to the ocean. Normally I don’t take them outside but today was the day to do it. Not knowing whether they suffer from sea sickness or not, I only troll the islands out the front. But what a session it was!!! The kids hooked up 16 times, dropped 4 fish, landed 10 bonito two Big Mac tuna and the eldest lost a good longtail boatside when it seen his head and took one last run and snapped him off. He was devastated but with sore arms it was time to call it quits! I did NOT touch a rod and reel all day! Quite happy with my little munchkins! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. It really depends what type of fish your are targeting. I only use snap swivels for game fishing or live baiting. A well tied knot to lure means less parts that can fail. Just my opinion cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Port Stephens- teaching the next generation!

Thanks Pete! Rapala xrap 6inch diver and my favourite cheap gold bomber from Kmart with owners! Cheers! Age doesn’t matter. Just get out there and give a go!
  19. Port Stephens- teaching the next generation!

Thanks Sam. The time together is more important than the fish! But it does make it a bit more exciting 🐟
  20. Port Stephens- teaching the next generation!

Cheers mate! They were still pretty excited this morning Thanks! Yep exactly! I have 4 kids and my 17yo has gone awol. That’s why I’m training the 2 little ones. My 13 yo is a gun decky but I’m guessing he’s only got 4 years left so time for the younger ones to step up!

  23. Port Stephens- teaching the next generation!

It was a top day rick! The only thing that would of made it better was if they could drive too Thanks BN. That was what the day was all about! In reality, that’s what life’s about! You can have all the money in the world but you can’t buy time! Thanks Craig! Yes mate, I will be adding that shortly
  24. Port Stephens- teaching the next generation!

Thanks swano! We are doing it tough up here!
  25. Port Stephens- teaching the next generation!

Thanks BF. Plenty more photos where they came from! The kids had a ball. Cheers Pete! It’s great to know they have my genes! Now as the kids grow, I still have a decky for a few years yet! Agree frank! Today was all about them having fun! They asked to go again tomorrow but it’s serious fishing time tomorrow with another raider! Cheers baz! Hopefully we have the same luck tomorrow! Yeww
