  11. Hi, I purchased some S factor in a large tube about a year ago, haven't needed to open it till recently as I've been using up the small tubes you get with the Pro range. When I opened the tube it looks different to the stuff in the small tubes. Is this correct?

  13. Flathead on light leader

I've fishing for bream for about 9 months now with SP. And often a the by catch is flathead. If there're lip hooked I have no trouble getting them in, but often I'll hook a fish and after a fight my leader breaks and I lose lure and fish. When I exam the leader it's usually frayed. So I'm guessing a flathead that has swallowed the lure and the leader is on direct contact with the flathead teeth. I usually loose them pretty close to the end of the fight probably coz all the headshakes cut through the leader Does anyone have any tips as to how to play the fish so I can land more?? Do you not wind them in and let them tire themselves out but that increases the chances of rock and stuff cutting your line anyhow? It seems a less taught line would fray less, so do you fish with the drag dialled right back?? Any help would be appreciated. cheers Richard
  14. is there something wrong with my S factor??

  17. Back to the battery

I suppose just make sure you got proof of purchase in case you need a warranty claim. with the acid it would have been a lot worse if you'd scratched yourself downstairs. so tasting was probably only the second dumbest thing to do!! LOL
  18. Fishing with lures?

I'd start with soft plastics. Here are some Fishraider articles to get you started http://www.fishraider.com.au/article/fishing-soft-plastic-baits/ http://www.fishraider.com.au/article/fishing-soft-plastic-baits-pt-2/ http://www.fishraider.com.au/article/fishing-soft-plastic-baits-pt-3/

  21. Stradic Ci4+ - Dropped in sand and water

I just got a standard service after I dropped one of my reels in the water, but there was no sand. So two reels cost me $60. I'm not sure how long it takes ti get there coz I drove there and dropped it off and saved on the postage. Not sure how much a clean and rebuild is, but if you call them they should be able to give you a better idea. The way I see it, a reel as nice as a Stradic Ci4 you want a good quality service. Incidently one of my reels I got them to service was a 2500 Ci4. Again probably best to call them for turn around time and costs. good luck mate

  23. First bream on HB

  24. First bream on HB

First report in a while. Was meeting friends for lunch on Friday had a couple hours to spare before. Seabreeze predicted 30km/h westerlies. So I consulted google maps for a suitable place to fish. Ended up near Chiswick. Was dead low tide. I started with ol faithful 2.5in Zman motor oil grubz on 1/16th. The area was pretty flat and I saw a drain emptying into the bay which had dug out a deeper trough in front. A few casts in on onto the first fish of the day I've recently upped my leader to 10lb and was keen to see if it put off the bream. I must say it doesn't appear to have coz next fish Decide to try HB which I'm pretty new to. Casting with the wind I was sending a 4.5cm lure at least 25+ metres. I begin the retrieve. I've read you can tell when the lure is bumping the bottom but I couldn't tell whether I was bumping bottom or just feeling the natural action. it was fairly muddy bottom so was fairly confident I would get snagged up. Next minute the lure gets a big hit.. Pump and wind take your time. I see a silver flash. Near the shore there were exposed rocks with oysters After a few anxious moments and a great fight. .Tide was so low when I released him he was more than half out of the water, but a few tail flicks and he was on his way.. Thanks for reading. During the big fights it makes all the time you don't catch suddenly forgotten. cheers Richard
