Took this pic yesterday morning out the back of my place on Ourimbah Creek.

The posts at the front of the pic are what's holding my jetty up and the tops are around 2m off the water level. They went completely under last night.

The water was flying down stream that quick i reckon a boat would have struggled getting up it.

It's dropped a little over night but not a great deal....

We can fish from our balcony, if we can get into the cabin.

Back in the UK just after a storm was always good bass ( sea bass ( though there are no fresh water bass there)) fishing. The fish would move in to eat all the crustaceans and molluscs that had been killed in the tidal zones

Be warned there is a lot of raw sewerage in the lake due to failure of sewerage pumps etc etc, hand washing etc before eating and I don't know if i'd eat fish atm.

Just as a courtesy I'm probably not looking good for this weekend now....

Got a wedding on the Friday up at Katoomba and now the bride is telling me she wants to stay up there for a couple of nights as well. At least for the Friday night so that rules me out for at least the first 2 days. :(

Still a chance i could make the Sunday session though, slim chance, but a chance none the less!!

Just a short report from The Entrance.

The water level has dropped a lot and is very close to normal. The water colour has also improved.

Some reports of flathead being caught off the wall using soft plastics. Blackfish are a bit slow at the moment but will improve.

So things are looking better, we just need some better weather.

Cheers Steve

Just and update.

The weather looks ok but cool to cold so bring warm stuff to wear and maybe a little rain as well.

The wind may be up a bit but we have a spot on the beach that will be protected and the lake should be fine.

Cant wait to meet everyone.

Regards The Swordies

Ok some fish hard and I do this in the early morning and late arvo evenings mostly and some just chill out and throw a line in the lake and play with others in the drinking beer stakes.

Socials are not all about fishing but socialising as well....its all up to what you want to do

There could be some prawns about as well. Can't beat a beer and some fresh prawns. I'll have a go tomorrow night and give a report.

What is everyone doing for bait? Are there good places nearby? Or should I bring some from home? Bait recommendations? Haven't fished the entrance for over 10years, not sure how much it has changed.

Looking forward to meeting everyone also.

Cheers

Joe

Hey joep. There is a bait and tackle shop on main road long jetty. Have great fresh bait ranging from fresh prawns caught in same system also weed and live worms. Then also all the frozen stuff. My recommendation for bait snd supplies.

Cheers
