Fish cleaning table

53 posts in this topic

Going to be building a fish cleaning table in the next few days.

got a price on a piece of food grade stainless steel. 2420x 1220 x .9mm

picking it up tomorow.

taking it to my mate Pete,s  tomorow night so he can get the edges folded 70mm and corners tig ss welded.( factory across the road from his)

then will be buying a piece of 2400 x 1200 x 19mm form ply.

cutting 100mm off 1 end and side.

then building a 50 x 50 gal sq tube frame.

i will be putting a stainless steel laundry sink in the middle of one side and a flexible water tap.

should end up 2.300 long x 1.100 wide  x 1.200 high

I will post up some pictures of the build.

all up should only cost me about $400 to $500

cheers marty

If I told the mrs I was spending that coin on that,I'd be homeless in the blink of an eye.

Can't wait for the end result.

I might have a word with your wife heh heh

Be a good fisho and clean fish BEFORE bringing it home or do it at your mate's place!!

You can get one from Bunnings for about 70 bucks ;) I think.

Will love to see the pics of this build - good luck with it Trail

Lol,

i better keep on your good side then? hey Donna, 😜Haha.

plan is to clean fish in front yard near garden tap.

cats get all the freebies,

and I'll have a few big buckets under sink to catch water, when 3/4 full the water will be used on fruit tree,s, and strawberry gardens etc.

plus the table will be big enough to fillet big fish etc.

plan is to pull boat up next to it and unload eskies straight onto it.

Might incorperate draws underneath for knifes n clip seal bags etc.

guaranteed I'll add on features as time passes.🙂

Will be a solid unit.

My mate pete recons I'll need my forklift to move it.

i think he will be right, 😆

Another vote for the big folding tables from Bunnings, I've been using one for years, it's held plenty of tuna up around 60kg ( one at a time ). We also fold it up to take on camping trips.

Sounds like it will be the Taj Mahal of cleaning tables.I'd be happy if I can just catch fish first. Then worry about a cleaning table.

Look like Stews been doing oil changes on that Donna. If I had one I reckon I'd have the cleanest one out of everyone.A bit like my boat, they don't get grubby if you don't use them.

I use a small fold up table too, yeah, yeah its never been to small for the job.....   Usually a bucket beside with a plastic bag in it.   The frames and guts go in the bag, inevitably some scales end up on the grass.  The mower takes care of those.

That looks good and portable. Would do the job perfectly.

Mine is going to be a bit of an overkill probably.

But be good for a few blokes cleaning fish at same time.

Um no not oil - we have some bats running around terrorising surfaces in the area. Buggers of things they are.

Anyone who knows swordie will know he is fastidious and meticulously clean with every thing he owns. He is a better cleaner than anyone I have ever met.

It is good for making burley and cutting pillies (yuk). Most fish caught by swordie are released as you know but any he brings back are cleaned and in vac bags :)

I am watching this post - love seeing what our inventive raiders do!!

Would the stinky fish water attract rats, cats etc to your backyard?

I always clean at the boat ramp to stop stinking up the house when i get back home

Where abouts in Sydney do you live on acreage?I thought the blocks in Sydney where just big enough to swing a cat.
