  2. From BIA eNews: 1 May 2024 MarineJobs.org.au is an online jobs platform and a collaboration by the Marina Industries Association (MIA), the Boating Industry Association Ltd (BIA) and Superyacht Australia (SYA) to help the marine industry tackle the competitive tight labour market and promote the marine industry as a preferred career choice. To ensure Marine Jobs online can help deliver to the recruitment needs of industry, the partners have decided to transition it to a Facebook platform. As Marine Jobs provides an online recruitment and retention function for industry, the partners agreed it was necessary to find a sustainable way forward. Leveraging a platform such as Facebook will be an efficient way of reaching job seekers. It will ensure that we can continue to provide an online solution for marine industry workers and employers. Marine Jobs online has been very successful at recruiting management and administrative roles, and it is hoped that the transition to a Facebook platform will increase the exposure of operational roles. The lower cost associated with Facebook as the host platform will mean that posting jobs will be free for employers. The Marine Jobs domain name marinejobs.org.au will be retained to provide important information on career pathways and jobs available in the various segments of the marine industry and will provide links to the Facebook page for recruiters and job seekers. Meanwhile, BIA will continue to work hard for industry in other areas to support jobs in the marine industry such as advocacy to Governments to support skills/trades/apprentices, participating in a multiple reference and working groups, working with schools and teachers, supporting marine jobs Open Days and promotions at events and shows, and building on positive partnerships with TAFE and Australian Institute of Engineering (AIE). 3. A few members use fishraider as their electronic diary as well as a paper one! They place a report each time they go out fishing and they can then look back on the details Here is a good post with what to add into the fishing report
  4. Gawd sorry to hear your trip was spoiled. It must have been a bad trip driving home so unwell. The cold drier air air usually affects airways by irritating the mucous membranes producing that annoying coughing. Have you seen a GP? There are meds that you may be offered.
  5. Here is a place to learn about all sorts of knots, not just fishing ones. CLICK HERE for website Below is youtube
  6. That is brilliant Zoran. If I was tying knots I would use the diy contraption there. Luckily, Swordie ties every knot. He spends days before and after fishing trips getting things ready. It is a rare thing that we have ever lost a fish due to knot failure! He would be very cross with himself if that occurred
  7. Submerge yourself. We've just released HD bathymetric depth data for NSW waterways. It's time for a deep dive to discover new destinations, experiences and fishing spots....
  8. Frank that is very sensible. There is a lot of support out there. Not sure what you have tapped into. Please send me a pm if you want to chat about this. You know my background is in healthcare. Donna
  9. Albert next time ask the person what their fishraider name is We have had a few Zorans on here.

  12. Baz that wet season in Bali is a killer. I love the fact that you had a special tattoo done in your son Ben's memory. The time comes for all of us to make those decisions, you are brave. I am quite sure you have enjoyed Port Stephens life for a while. Just look forward to making more memories in Sydney and all those great travel destinations. Fishraider is the one stable thing for a lot of us. Its a safe a happy place for many, many folk.
