  1. sorry typo mistake. was getting to invovled in the post thats not a good thing is it
  2. went out from south passage bar today to do some fishing and learning. conditions weren;t to great the bait was hard to get to feed. we got some bait and hit the close in reefs. had a livie out and on 2nd release of the livie BANG hook up. 5kg Morwong came aboard. im getting great at catching em. moved again and give the livie some action and BANG 3kg Grassy Sweetlip comes on. buy now the wind was approaching 20knts from the north so the decision was made to head home early. cheers phil Back to top
  3. noosa bar was a piece of cake. very clear channel and is quite deep also, there was not much swell on it so it made the crossing very easy. best ive seen it for quite a while.
  4. gianniz the grinner is not a good eating fish. it is very boney and has a terrible flavour. i have never tried one and don;t intend on trying either. apparently even the dolphins don't like grinners. they are pests. they take the baits that a destened for bigger better fish. cheers phil
  5. yes that 2nd picture is the grinner. they are pests.
  6. the final catch my pearl perch suprisingly it was the only pearly caught for the afternoon
  7. weather was good for an afternoon trip so mal matt and I headed out to Halls Reef from noosa. we found a good show on the sounder and anchored up. first drop up comes a 38cm tuskie , then matt got a grinner. calls of crap spot began. then mal was hit by a freight train and calls of "trout" were cried. up comes the boats first ever trout at about 55cm. man were we happy. fish kept coming on board with a few more tuskies and a pearly hitting the decks. then the baitrunner started to "run" then it spat the hook, after about 15minutes of taking the bait and dropping a nice squid came aboard. (it made the boat black). was a great afternoon only fishing for about 2.5hrs and still came back with a feed. thanks for coming along mal hope the trout was good. end catch was 2 grinners (released) 2 undersized squire 3 tuskies 1 pearly 1 coral trout 1 sand shark 1.5m 1 wobbegong 1 squid 1 red rock cod (suprisingly very good eating) cheers phil pics as follows mals trout matts grinner
