  1. headed out saturday arvo and took the girls for a fish in the hacking,, we started of by filling the esky with port and beers then headed out to get some squid, after a few in the rain we went out to the reef and anchored up, using plastics we managed two nice sized reds, getting busted off on many bigger ones, darkness hit so we headed back in the hacking to set up for the night, tied up on a mooring put a tarp up so we didnt drown and put some fresh squid baits out, drank ourselves silly and went to bed,, 530 in the morning a bait starts screaming off and we ended up with a solid jew just on the metre mark,, it was a cold night with lots of rain but we managed to stay dry and ended up with a feed
  2. i was the proud owner of one mate, i have never seen a sterndrive corrode so bad, and to be a trailer boat is even worse,, all the problems just keep coming, the older model might be good,, mine is great when its going,, when it runs its a pearler but repair costs are through the roof and servicing is a huge expence,, i was un able to servive myself even being a mechanic, as it would void warranty,, but not just the product has steered me away from the brand, the way the dealer delt with it is the main thing that will for the rest of my days spread the word of how rubbish it was and how much trouble i went through
  3. thanks mate, i like the idea of cc an e mail to them as well, im on to it as we speak,,,im also in the process of making a 4 metre long sticker for the side of my boat with a short stort of what happened, just so i can park it at busy ramps ect,,, thanks for the advice bud
  4. hey mate most of the work was covered under warranty, the ongoing thought was water in fuel, to the point i had new tanks and seperators fitted new lines new breathers ect but problems still accur
  5. hi all i would like to share my story with you about my experience with a repower,,i have always wanted a 23 carribbean and saved and saved and finally got one,,, i loved it,, on the water every chance i got in her,, i slowly over time did the boat up to what i wanted, gutting the interior and desighning a new style of what i wanted,, a full retrim, decked out with sounder gps lights electric anchor winch ect ect ect, i bought a trailer for it so i can tow it,, then got to the point where the old mercruser was a bit to thirsty on fuel,, so i looked into a repower,, i ended up deciding on a volvo penta that i bought from the dealer in ingelburn for just under 25k, a full package injected v8 with duo prop drive all the add ons, computer anti corrosion system, nutra salt system ect, i was amazed with how she went, a 40knott top speed with 5 people in the boat, awesome pickup, great on fuel ect,, i have done 350 hours in the boat since repower and in that time i have BROKEN DOWN 40 times plus,,, yes 40 times,,, i have been through 4 coils at a cost of $420 and three fuel pumps at a cost of $1200,, multiple sencors, a set of injectors, the list goes on,, i often broke down a good 25 odd miles out to sea and had to wait to be towed home by coast guard,, not to mention the donation fee to the coast guard,,, the leg had corroded and been painted once,,, a trailer boar???? and had corroded again and looks disgusting,,, a total of 6 months in 3 years my boat was in the shop,,, i feel as though i was patch repaired untill warranty expired and now im not wanted to be known,,, what sort of service is this??also in all this time in the shop it was never water tested, the only time it got water tested was strait after the 12k re gel coat of the boat hull to bring her up looking brand new and she came back with a scratch from front to rear and a set of dented duo props, to the answer of, oh yeah we hit a log on the water test, no offer to fix at all,, i am now stuck with my boat that i have spent 3 years and an estimate of 70k on that i cant use as i have lost all faith in it,, so she just sits there in the driveway,,, i am telling you this, my story,,, for the reason of, anyone looking to repower there boat,,,,, a must is,, to look up the company, google the company and if any problems with them and the motor, google faults not the good stuff like specs ect,,, this happens all to much and its very hard to battle such huge companies legaly,,, i hope this helps someone out on not what to do,,,,
  6. thanks guys, dan im pretty sure you left your coffee mug in the boat so it could still be your the lucky charm mate
  7. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hi people been busy an unable to post so just a short one,we headed out yesterday to get just past the shelf for the tide change, put the spread out right on the spot of last weeks hookup, 20 mins into it the short goes off for a nice run but nothing elce so we stopped the boat and up came a nice 40kg+ model yellowfin, headed north in search and no action, headed back south to the same spot for the arvo tide change and on the same spot we hooked up again only one strike so stopped the boat to land a 50kg+model bluefin, worked the area for a bit to get some small yellowfin and albacore, so had a cube into the night, no more action so we headed home for the awesome trip strait into the westerly of 25knts that was fun,, we got fish in the end so it was worth it, see you all on the water soon cheers andy
  8. thanks for all the kind words guys, it tasted good to
  9. hi people, decided to take the boat for a run on sat morning in hope to trawl up some bonnies along the coast line of botany, headed out of the bay and put the small skirts out on out small rods, trawled all the way to weddingcake for nothing so headed for the peak but still nothing, headed back to the coastline and towards botany again sticking metres off the rocks and pulling the lures through the wash, all of a sudden double hook and the girlfriends rod starts screaming (2-4kg t curve with 2500 symetre) i was steering us out away from the rocks thinking we just had some bonnies when she says my reel is nearly out of line, as a mate was trying to untangle his hookup with the 3rd rod he dropped his fish, i look at her reel to see its about 10 metres from the knot, i yell hang on, slam reverse hard and the line runs out to the knot just as the boat was reversing hard the fish turns hard and we thought we dropped it, i tell her to wind fast, and not sure if it was droped or not on the fast retrieve the line goes flying past us in the other direction, then the rod buckles again, about now i was thinking must be a king, so as a club points day i chased this fish for a good 15 minutes to hit the know again then finally got it boat side to discover it was a small yellowfin,,,wtf i was confused so quickly put the lures in again and trawl past the same spot to hook up a 3rd, ended up busting off two fish but the girlfriend landed her first yellowfin weighing 3.5 kg on 3kg line,, was an awesome day on the water and ended up with a top feed for diner, the weathers getting great tight lines to all and see you on the water cheers andy

  12. hey everyone, i had the chance to fish aboard my mates awesome tinny weflickin, we headed out early and ended up with a few squid, hard work not many around but got 5 in the end headed out and dropped one down on the rigger and got a hit to lose a bait, second was me and i landed a 95cm king nice and fat then mark was up and got a 98cm even fatter, we got rained on and wet, ended up keeping the smaller and releasing the bigger one, got bricked twice and lost one bait, all in all it was a good morning, just getting used to the new camera still working out positions ect but still managed some good footage of down rigging underwater ect, hope you enjoy cheers andy
  13. hi peoples organised a quick morning fish this morning got on the water around 630, struggled bad to find squid managed to get one of about 25-30cm hood length so i thought stuff it we will send him out and come back if theres fish, so we headed out to the coast and dopped him down to 10metres on the downrigger not having a strong rod holder my mate was holding the rod, 10 mmins later right on the tide change wack off it goes we drove off to the deep and jas was on a nice fish, he came up pretty easy untill he saw the boat then hit overdrive nearly pulling jas in the water with him, 15-20 mins later we landed a king, measured 120 and weighed just under 12kilos, we decided after all the effort we might just have a play with some lures as we were stuffed and it was more than enuf to feed us, 2 mins later jas hooks a rat, released the trawled off to hook another king ended up being 6kilo and landed on 12pound after that we saw the rain clouds coming and decided to call it quits,, not bad for 3 hours fishing,, mery chrissy to everyone and an awesome new year with plenty of tight lines cheers andy
