  1. Good work! I love them off the beach! Howard.
  2. Stop it, Stop it, I like it!!!!!!! Have been drooling over this spot for months, Just have to find the time and convince the family it wont be ALL fishing.
  3. http://www.lanis.com.au/frameset.htm Click on tony's point island in the middle of the screen, havent been there but want to go desperately! Howard.
  4. "Wear waders or sandshoes in case of encountering a fortescue" I had forgotten about the pain!
  5. Russell, The problem we have is that we dont know these models. In general an outfit like this would be great in a boat! I use a 4 kg baitcaster/ overhead outfit for lure casting and bottom bashing. I have in the past used it off the beach and rocks for Bream Salmon and Tailor. The line capacity of your reel is about the same so it should be good! I doubt that you will be casting realy small lures with it, but thats not it's purpose. Howard.
  6. This latest batch were tied on 1/0 stainless forged hooks, they are around 75m/m long, depends on how I trim them! They cast ok, most of the time I'm chasing Tailor with them and distance/ accuracy isn't an issue. They realy flash and look great in the water. A great exciter lure! I have also trolled them. especially on 1 kg line, on heavier line you can add a 000 or 00 shot sinker right on top of the fly to get them lower in the water. The appliance touch up paint is quick drying and gives a full gloss finish to the head, great stuff!
  7. Grab some now before it's packed away! These can be trolled also, for striped tuna especially! As well as all the other species!
  8. I have a couple of porcaster x rods and love them. I have capricorn reels on them and had a ball catching salmon in the surf with them down at Tathra in october. I also have a regal z, not as refined as the capricorn's, but have had no problems with it. Bought it off Warren from Breamaster, he gave it a workout before I bought it ! Do it! Howard.
  9. You may find quite a few raiders carry a nappy, mainly those who are fathers! They make great rags and are readily available, especially if your kiids have grown out of them! Howard.
  10. Well done, I enjoyed reading your report! A happy wife means a happy life! Howard.
  11. Ah, summer is here! Tailor school like that in cowan with fish up to a kilo. My favorite summer pastime! Good work Ken! Howard.
  12. Beaches fish well for all the usual species, Beachworms are there too! The lake has good prawns at the right time, some bream and flathead. Out the front of the lake is Crampton Island, access is usually an easy walk across the sand spit, but can be covered at high tide. Fun at night! The SOUTH facing ledges are the ones to fish, close to the beach and low down for bream drummer and a long cast to a reef for snapper. over the top to a high ledge to spin for salmon taylor striped tuna and kings. right out the front for lbg. The island is one of my favorite spots. Howard.
  13. You really are spoilt living so close! Your also getting the most out of the boat in the variety of fishing you do! GREAT WORK! Howard.

    Where Is....

Joe, I still use my seascape and mitchell reels, have a few floppys and bellbrook lures, a couple of abu hi lo's. they all still catch fish!
  23. It was my first salmon on SP's, luckily the sand was hard packed! Bass Minnows did the damage, colour didn't matter, they hit on the drop at the end of the cast, to your feet in 100c/m of water! steep beach with deep water close in.
