  1. Hope everyone is ok up there. I will be heading up with some mates on Thursday for golf at Horizons followed by a few days of fishing. If there are any meat raffles or donation bins for the RFS or victims I will be sure to throw some cash at every one I can. Hopefully that gives me a bit of good Karma with the fishing too. Glad it was not any worse than it was.
  2. Thanks guys Well we were greeted with a bit of wind and a rough sea, but after driving 2 hours we were not turning back. We started off near the wreck and my mate pulled in a Tailor around 35cm on a surf popper. Not long after I lost something that got my reel screaming, I called Salmon. And as quick as they came, they left. We moved a bit further south where we found a nice gutter. Not long after the first cast, bang, Salmon, used the waves to help bring him in while walking back from the water. He went 54cm. The bite went off again, so we moved again, but this time headed north, found a really nice deep gutter so we threw our lines in there. Just as we were about to move again, I retrieved my line and I was on again, this one a little bigger at 55cm. As I was taking the hooks out, my mate was on and bringing it in, looked to be another salmon, but with the final wash of the wave and the line going slack, it spat the hooks and you could see it flapping on the sand, and with that we run after it only to see him disappear with the next wave when we were a few meters from it. Packed up at 12pm after arriving at 6.30am. Not a bad day out in the end. Better than catching nothing. And on a side note....the beach is now closed for camping sorry to say.
  3. Hey all!!! Wow its been ages since I have been on here, with a young daughter who is almost 2 I cant remember the last time I went fishing. Anyway I have managed to get away for a day and Im heading up to Stockton Beach with a mate from work, so everyone wish us luck. I am going to give everything a go, try and catch some salmon and tailor, flatties and whiting using some fresh worms caught there and then on the beach. We will be hitting the waves by 6am and probably leave when have had enough (is there a such thing). If anyone has been up there of late and/or has any tips it will be greatly appreciated and i will be sure to write up a report, even if all we catch is weed and too much sun. Thanks in advance Andreweggy

  12. Hey all. I hope everyone had themselves a great and safe xmas and new year. And for those lucky enough to have holidays i hope u took full advantage of it and got plenty of fishing done. Im off to hervey bay next week up on the sunshine coast of queensland and im on a mission to get plenty of fishing done. One of my missions is to get onto a charter boat and catch something decent enough to take a photo of and stick it on here. I have never been on a charter so im looking forward to the experience. I was hoping that if anyone knew of any good charter companies up there that could be recommended. Also if they knew of any good spots for land based fishing as i will be doing some early morning fishing while the is still asleep. Any help will be greatly appreciated and i hope to have plenty of pics to post on here. Till then fishraiders..........happy fishing ANDREWEGGY!!
  13. has gotta work saturday norning so im taking advantage of that and heading out to my fave spot at bundeena at 4.30am to catch the sunrise and hopefully a few fish. hoping to get that elusive first kingy that has busted off a few times of late, if not a salmon will do me fine good luck to all and have fun EGGY!!!!!
  14. i saw one episode of it the other week and one of the new guys fell overboard, they were saying if u r not rescued within the first minute or two u have bucklys chance of living, this guy was one of the lucky ones and ended up back out there the next day ready to face his fear and give it another go. they have some balls though, not a job for everyone.
  15. i will be out there. heading out to bundeena with a mate or two and try our luck. the spot we go to we normally catch tailor and have caught salmon there before too. also a few kingys on the sunrise have been an added treat if we end up staying out all night. as long as i catch a few things im a happy camper no matter what they are, just happy to be in the great outdoors. if anyone else is heading out good luck and hope u have a ball will try to remember pics and post a report sometime over the weekend
