  1. Never used plastics before, and thought it would be fun to give it a go. Went to randomly purchase a packet of gulp nuclear chicken 3" minnows today. Is this a good choice (I chose these mainly due to the striking colours)? I'm not looking at chasing a specific type of fish as yet (at this stage, any fish would do I guess, just hoping some fish would bite!).. Based on your experience, what kind of fish would I likely get with these nuclear chicken minnows? Also, is it necessary to have different kind of plastics? like different flavours, shapes, etc.? I normally do land-based fishing. Can't wait to give plastics a go!
  2. yea just got back from fishing too, and about 5-6 port jacksons were reeled in. most of them are approx. 1.2m or so. they're like stubborn heavy rocks which refuse to move hence not easy to reel in, but they don't really try hard to run away either.. huge buggers they are (and not suprising since we didn't get any other fish, and we suspect these buggers ate all the fish in the surrounding area) o well, all in all, it was good to be out there fishing although it was a bit windy today.. cheers, fishy
  3. Hiya all, I'm a fishing newbie but have been avidly following the news and such in this forum for some time now. Thought I'd start my first post and join you happy bunch Started fishing only just a couple of months ago, and I'm hooked onto it! Was excited to hear Bruce catching some nice fish at Como! I live somewhat nearby and would love to give it a go (especially blackfishing as I've heard fun stories about it!). Did you do your fishing there land-based? Also, are fish caught at Como edible?? Whereabouts in Como is good for fishing? Unfortunately I'm only limited to land-based fishing (no boat) and have limited means of transport (currently no car).. Would appreciate some kind directions so that I can wet my line and hopefully catch something! Cheers, fishy
