  1. If you try under the brigde near the mouth you might be lucky for some flatty other than that you just have to keep moving around the lake. I find prawns are the go along with small squid even beach worms. Goodluck BTF
  2. A couple of other boys and i from school are going in it (all raiders). Were all really looking forward and were gonna be getting in heaps of practice well in advance to be as ready as we can, haha. Out of all four boys its our first comp and the amount of excitement and talk is really great. good luck to everyone who enters its gonna be a great comp. BTF
  3. awesome effort for the lake, ive been down there a few times over the past couple of week, its been really quite only really small snapper and bream. you've gotta love the narra rats lol me and the boys try and get them on lures, doesn't work though, there to smart or to drunk
  4. nice catch mate. glad you landed her and she didnt get away. hope thats the first of many more to come... cheers btf
  5. Hey raiders A few mates and I are going out on the harbour Saturday morning at about 5am. Were new to the harbour and wondering if anyone has had any luck lately and what is biting. Hopefully get a kingy or two If anyone can help that would be great. btf
  6. Yeah it was a bad day... We were on the water at 7 and it was blowing a gale. Oh well, we set off we go to a little spot that has produced decent flathead in the past (thankfully it was out of the wind) but that still didn't seem to help us. A fat 0 at that spot . Off we go to the basin to try and grab a few squid or some small flatties/whiting. We got one hit on the Sp's but apart from that nothing... very disappointing but atleast we were out of the wind. To top off the bad luck we were having a troll back to the ramp when some bloody idiot decided to turn and cut straight across our two lines which were out a fair way and under the surface. He crossed our path 20m from the back of the boat which cut the 2 decent lures straight off as well as a lot of line, it was a joke. We were trolling slowly so it wasn't like we cut into his path. Gah.. Btf
  7. ...Yer took all my line about 200m of around 30pound line not happy anyway we had a good ride back. I hope the metal trace gets tangled in their prop. Cya tomoz young gun btf
  8. Morning all, it's 6am and were just about to leave to head down to the boat. We have a range of plastics and baits to get us thru the day hopefully we'll have some luck. I'll post any catches or non catches up later with pics. Btf.
  9. hey raiders we went to mona basin and there was quite a fair few snags untill my rod went flying, i chased it, grabed it and on the other end was a aprox. 1m / 5kg portjackson shark. it put up a fair good fight but not good enough to get away, we reeled him in, got the gang hook out and let him go... other than that it was quiet. Btf
  10. hey raiders, Going fishing tomorrow (sunday 30th) in pittwater, just wondering if anyone has had any luck and what fish are biting. also areas that are hot spots and baits or lures. if anyone can help id really appreciate it. Thanks btf
  11. thanks mate. we were thinking 4 till around 8 with the tide change, i went down to mona this morning to see what it was like there are about three gullys about 20m apart and its really flat so hopefully there will be some luck this arvo. we'll be probally using triple gang hooks with pillies and try our luck. also have a rod set up for black fish, ive heard there good around mona pool? thanks
  12. Hey guys Me and a few mates were thinking of hitting up the beach tomorrow. Anyone have any good feed back from the beachs along the northern beaches around Mona vale to north narra area? If anyone has any tips they would like to share about beach fishing that would be great. Thanks Heaps
  13. Hey boys the lake is fairly quite depends on when you go I've alway found the bridge near the mouth to the beach is a good spot I've landed 2, 45cm flattys there and a nice 40cm sea mullet all caught to gulp lures and rig up light. I find the best time to go in the lake is when the tide is coming in. Goodluck
