  1. ross any truth to the idea that the sperm whales are feeding on the tuna?
  2. I would be too, the parsley bay ramp does not need improving its a great ramp. The petition should have a statement written right at the top stating their cause..... otherwise it ain't worth anything.
  3. There are a number of models in that range, The furuno, raymarine, koden, simrad and JRC units in that price range are all worth looking at. I would be starting with the model Big Banana has mentioned as its a fairly new realese and they're supposed to be pretty good. I'd be staying away from lowrances, humminbirds etc.... stick with the top brands.
  4. mate you can spend over $10,000 on a fishfinder if you really want the best, probably burn a hole in the ocean floor too..... have you got a budget in mind?
  5. you got it mate You always want your lures to be in the clear pockets or windows of your boats wash.
  6. they aren't designed to prevent tangles, that is easy stuff. They're designed to get your lures in the cleaner water of your boat's wash without resorting to outriggers. They are great for small boats as often this is all you need, outriggers can be a waste of money. Although I'm sure a decent stainless steel fabricator can make a pair up for much cheaper than what reelax sells them for.

    What Boat?

also think about a foldaway drawbar on the trailer so a bigger boat really is possible.
  8. yep 50lb line especially braid on a reel that maxes out at 8-9kg of drag is pointless.

    Baitrunner 6500 A

Also instant anti reverse was included in the B series and I think they added some type of line laying system so that it lays braided line better on the spool. I remember when the B series came out I was in the market for a 4500 and I didn't get the B series beacuse I thought the A series was a tried and proven reel, now a few years later I wish I had got the B series they are a lot nicer to use.
  10. didn't bother to weigh it mate, I'd say 25-30kg.
  11. if he had an alvey that snap decision to throw the outfit onto the sand would have been an ultra snap decision. Seriously, he must have been devastated, I've lost good fish like that, but never a fish of a lifetime.
  12. definately a ray of some sort.
  13. de havillands were riveted and I can't see any rivets.
  14. We used to use the KL hooks, as well as the octopus circles by gamakatsu on our bottom bashing patternosters, just leave the rod in the rod holder...... great hooks, I have heard they are also a good livebait hook too.
  15. fuji alconites and see if you can get hold of some of that real hard eva, its great for finesse rods.
