  1. Remember the area it overheated. Open it up and check for build up of rust/gunk/corrosion that may be blocking waterflow to that area. Hopefully ull find something and clearing it solves the prob. Gluck.
  2. Bream looks massive in the hands of the little fella. Nice work
  3. So she likes fishing aye ..... Dude, Marry her immediately !!
  4. Nice Jew, so the slimeys do work... i may try again next time. (didn't work for me when i tried) You mentioned that this is the first jewie that you decided to keep for eating, (i assume by this you have caught them before) but i'm curious, what made you change your mind and want to eat it this time?
  5. HI guys, i need a little bit of urgent advice. after much anticipation and many failed attempt, me and a few mates finially pulled together a fishing trip to the hawkesbury. leaving tonight at 6. coming back to syd tomorow morning. we will be launching from brooklyn. and will be fishing mainly around this area, bridges, holes, dropoffs... all night for the mighty jew. first thing will be be looking for is yakkas. we won't try for squid as none of us are skilled enough in the art of egi... If any one can, please shed some light on a spot or two where we may be able to find a yellowtail or slimey mak... what ever will be easier.. any help will be greaty appreciated. cheers, Leo
  6. Great advice there twinfisher! some fish out there can test your line to its very last gram of holding strength.. and Thats the fish worth well over $$$$!!! just doesn't make any sense compromising quality when you already have the line anyway... might as well use it. as for backing, i found a little bit of duct tape on the aluminum barrel, then braid straight on top wont slip, but do use some old braid as backing to achieve a level finish with the lip of your spool. knots, i agree with the double uni.
  7. Just finished reading your post. Then had a browse over some of the comments that suggested a long story.?? I started thinking "what are these people talking about." .. Then a scrolled back up the page.... I had no idea i just read THAT much!!! It was such an entertaining read i just didnt notice any length.
  8. Good on ya fish311, thanks for all the hairy posts. keep an eye out for mine,... If I get any...
  9. Fish 311. Please leave some for the rest of us. Finally going for a trip on the 7th July. U think there will be any left?
  10. That makes sense. I've always that it was a rule to sick the hook in the upper body?? Don't know why, cuz there's no rules in fishing. Hehe, xcept bag and size limits and so forth.... But yea, it'll be like a pop up bait, would look Very natural.
  11. Man, thats awesome. you guys make a good team. but did i hear correctly? you found these fish in the georges river? is this common?
  12. i've only caught small ones last year. but they go alright, fight a bit weird thou. very interesting.. i can't wait to go and try for some bigger ones!!!
  13. Awesome idea. it will look like the yakka is just swimming in one spot near a pylon. i was hoping someone would ask for the yakka pic naked yakka.bmp
  14. top right of the stationary, the one with the double half hitch at the tail... i like this one especially for land based as it allows for a hard long cast, without having to bury the hook to deep, thus keeping the livie alive while getting it our far.
