  1. Don't forget that the Royals are visiting as well. So the boys in blue are probably going to be a bit more vigilant as well. Cheers Deek
  2. Location: Cunjerong Point Condition: This ramp is in fair condition. It has oysters at the sides of the ramp. The channel constantly changes due to the shifting sandbar at the mouth of Lake Conjola making it difficult to launch larger boats. Cheers Deek
  3. Hi raiders, just a report on Bendalong boatramp. There a 2 boatramps at Bendalong Condition: The One on the left has concrete all the way to the water and is suitable for 2wd vehicles. The other is concrete but it finishes at the sand and has a drop off at the end. This would only be suitable for 4wd. You need to be careful during a north east swell as the surge can be pretty tricky. Parking is not very good during summer so you need to get there early Amenities: There are no toilets. There are a couple of dodgy cleaning tables. Cheers Deek UPDATE 18/7/2014 from member dogbox This ramp should not be underestimated as a 2 wheel drive ramp, there are a number of safety issues that will catch out the an unsuspected user. 1. At low tide the concrete ramp ends well above the low tide line causing you to have to retrieve your boat on the sand. 2. Low tide increases the wave height at the ramp causing the rear vehicle to be inundated by salt water 3. The water action will cause you trailer and car to sink very quickly The best advice I can give is only use a 4 wheel drive and make sure you have a fishing buddy with you. Be prepared to launch and retrieve quickly.
  4. You can't go wrong mate. Mine's a 2002 model and I haven't had any probs either Deek

  9. G'Day Sam, I have exactly the same type of trailer for my Polycraft. I have the 2 rear wobble rollers in the water enough to see the top of them and a little of the centre skids. I don't have any problems doing it this way. Cheers Deek

  11. Akuna Bay information -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey Guys, I hope this is of use to you. I had a run-in with Marine and security at Akuna Bay the other day, so I wrote to NPWS to get the correct information about where to fish, this is the response: The Akuna Bay Marina and its footprint are leased by Macquarie Leisure Group from the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. The lease area covers the entire bay containing the marina, plus the car park. As is the case with most marinas, the fish in the area are protected and no recreational fishing is permitted. Fisheries NSW have two commercial fishing operators who have commercial licenses to fish and net in Cowan Creek, which includes the Akuna Bay Marina lease area. Following negotiations with the marina manager, they have agreed not to fish or trap in the lease area, as it is also a shipping channel, and they accept that their activities are not consistent with managing the area for boating. Recreational fishing is permitted once you have rounded the corner away from the bay in both directions, but there is no car parking along the RTA managed road until you get to Illawong Bay to the west. I trust that this helps you understand the restrictions regarding Akuna bay.
