  1. Hi. Recently got myself a Sea-Doo fish pro ski and looking for fellow jet ski fishers for company and safety for trips that would be safer in numbers. Cheers
  2. When I first joined this forum, he helped me with great advice without even knowing me and helped me catch some fish. I will never forget that. Such a helpful person with great wisdom. I will remeber him as the most respected member. He is a great loss to this forum, friends and his family the most of all. My condolences to all that new him.
  3. Sounds like a tilt trim issue. Try to get it at the right angle. At take of have the motor down and raise it slowly upwards as you build speed. Should help.
  4. I got the tyrnos 12 and it's awesome. Good drag, got 500 yards of 50lb braid on it. Solid too. I would buy it again for sure.
  5. Drummoyne bait and tackle opens real early on Saturdays. Peak times at 5 am. That would be your only shop around. Give them a call.
  6. Being a carpenter, I learnt to sharpen my chisels early and I use the same practice on my knives with great success. The key is to keep the same angle on all of your passes. Doing one side briefly the the other an so forth slowly working the burr of is the idea as slinky said. If you do 4 passes on one side you should feel the burr on the other side Normally, there is the grinded angle of about 25 degrees then your honing angle should be 5 degrees greater. Not the same as the main angle. I use my finger like a gauge/guide to keep the same angle throughout It's a thing that takes practice unfortunatly!
  7. Thanks for that guys. Now I have to look at the pfleuger and the samiki. Much appreciated.
  8. Hi mate. I think the harbour might surprise you. A good ramp is ermington off wharf rd. cruise down past the bridge ( about 25 min at 40km hr) and anchor near the wreck on the eastern side of Clarke island in 14m of water. Berley works well. Fish the bottom for Jew etc with pillies and livies of possible. Can get by catch of flatties ( caught some cracker ones here in the day on pillies), bream etc. smallish reef of shark Island is good too. Try the deep water off George's head too it can have some ok fish there ( hit and miss for me )and it's deep there. Drifting off the northern wedding cake with nippers on the drop off you can pick up flatties but beware of the bigger boats. Anchoring off quarantine bay at night has opportunity for anything but can get sloppy in bad weather. Lots of people have good things to say about middle harbour but i have not spent much time there so my info is limited. Tunks park ramp is good for here but the wreck off seaforth bluff is a good location which i have had some luck atMight see you out there as I am going out Saturday arvo. Good luck.
  9. No one replied as it is no name junk. People reply out of good will not because you expect so. Some one your age should have a bit more tact and not act like a 12 year old girl in a skirt Now you get nothing everywhere on here. Knob jockey. Definatly run first. Regards, Andrew.
  10. Thanks for the reply It an extra fast rod. My mistake. Please see pic it has details for the rod
  11. With the weather hopefully dying down by Sunday I am gonna give the boat a bath in sea water and hit the harbour and surrounds mid afternoon into the night for a bash for Jew/shark and by catch. Anyone else gonna hit it? If so, what are you chasing? Any info on what's been biting? Haven't hit it since march due to too much work, selling and moving house etc. now life has chilled a bit I'm gonna get out some more. Any info is appreciated and good luck if your out there. Cheers Andrew.
  12. Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. Have heard a lot of talk about the pfleugers and it's good. Will definatly go and have a look. Any idea on the release date of the new models? Cheers Andrew.
  13. Hi all. Hope to get some feedback if possible. I have a Stella 4000fe loaded with 30lb braid on a g loomis10-20 lb med/fast rod. The rod is great down low but the only issue I have is how sloppy the top half of the rod is. Wanting to change to something a bit stiffer as I have grown to not like the super soft feel of the top of the rod. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  14. The punt bridge is supposed to bring in big Jews near the mouth after some rain when in flushes all the mullet out of the creek with the dirty water. I saw in article in a mg ages ago with a guy catching huge ones with a lure there. Further down erina creek at barralong rd there are heaps of poddys around the pub and Campbell's cash and carry. Just need a trap. My uncle has caught a few under the bridge and I fished there as a kid catching all sorts an also in the creek. That creek further down holds so much mullet. You can see them swimming in schools every where Definatly think you missed the Jew. Good luck next time and I would definatly fish on the small beach on the mouth side of the bridge at night under the light on an outgoing tide after rain. . It is narrow too and all that goes in and out will go past your livies. Cheers
