  1. Apparently they're designed to be attached from either the front or back with one end having a little cup on it according to Mad Dog, so two lures in one I guess! They've also got rip minnows coming out in 50mm and 70mm too apparently All the images and info is from https://www.facebook.com/pages/3B-Crank-Hard-Body-Lures/ and Mad Dog is asking for opinions on if people want larger Sub Dogs too
  2. Mad dog Adam Royter posted these on the 3B lure Facebook page to give a sneak peak into whats coming! No idea on size/weight yet though
  3. Exceed is now available in Crystal, Looking forward to trying that out but I do love being able to see the blaze orange colour when working my lures better But I'm torn between grabbing Crystal Exceed or buying some new Nanofil to try for flats work
  4. Mate next time I'm out and see them I'll PM you
  5. Look around, I still see HEAPS of these in shops
  6. Guy fishing in Corpus Christi Texas caught this 100+ lb bale of Marijuana It's called a Square Grouper by the US Coast Guard, bails like this are usually thrown out of planes or off freighters and picked up and carried in to shore by Go fast boats, quite often a few bails get lost and written off, or are thrown overboard when being chased by the cops... all in all that is one INSANE catch!
  7. Some have luck there based on all the research I've done on it since its close to a mates house, but generally its one of those places that are hard, very very hard to catch fish in. There was one guy who fished there a lot and kinda worked it out a few years ago so I'm guessing if you put in many many MANY hours to figure it out then you might be successful
  8. Hahahah only took me a few minutes to write, I did it by memory and only checked a few things to make sure I was remembering it right I've always been fascinated by venomous animals, but I rather snakes most of all! I mean an animal with no arms or legs yet can bring down the biggest of animals? Amazing! Glad you're alright though mate, could have ended badly for ya and god knows I'll be double checking my weed clumps from now on too! It's a hazardous job fishing in Australia, everywhere you turn something either wants to poison you or bite and eat you hahaha
  9. It's only their beak (aka its mouth) that can hurt you since it's venom is actually it's saliva, touching their skin etc is fine just don't go ANYWHERE near the mouth.. It's a lot like a snake in that regard, if it touches you or you touch it you're fine unless it bites you then you really need to worry! Though if it does bite you just pray you're close to hospital or someone who can give you mouth to mouth since its venom paralyzes your body and you stop breathing even though you're awake the entire time, its the same stuff you find in Puffer fish Tetrodotoxin. People survive the bites by being put on ventilators in hospital to keep the artificially breathing until the toxin wears off since it mostly kills via paralysis which leads to suffocation The real bad bit is they carry enough venom to kill about 25 healthy human adults, and the bites are tiny and often painless and you sometimes don't know you're bitten until the effects of the venom start to take hold! They've always been here mate The species you get around Sydney and the southern coast is the the Blue Lined Octopus (Hapalochlaena fasciata) which ranges from Southern Queensland to Southern NSW, from Victoria (and probably the far south coast of NSW) to Tasmania, South Australia and Southern WA you get the Southern Blue Ringed Octopus (Hapalochlaena maculosa) and they both range from about 0-50m in depth. They aren't just found in Australia either, the Greater Blue Ringed Octopus (Hapalochlaena lunulata) is found in tide pools and shallow reefs 0-20m deep from Northern Australia to Japan, The Soloman Islands, Papua New Guinna, Indonesia, Philippines and as far east as Sri Lanka Can you tell I like venomous animals?
  10. Gotta be careful if you mean your red P's, you can only tow a max load of 250kg (eg Trailer + boat plus everything else, fuel ice and the added weight from your mods could push it over that mark) or you can get done for it and lose ya P's Either way mate nicely done! Been considering doing a similar project myself for awhile now!
  11. Yeah the Cronulla Houseboats or whatever they were called shut up shop in December if I remember correctly, the only place on the upper hacking now is Atwells I think
  12. To be fair Squid are a very short lived species so there would be very minimal build up of any chemicals in them, so they would be safe to eat in moderation (one or so every now and then). The real danger comes from species that are long lived, or live/feed in the mud and sediment in the river where all the Chemicals etc accumulate. You're not even supposed to eat much fish that are caught to the east of the Harbour Bridge either, but in all honesty how many Raiders eat fish caught in the harbour? Same with people who catch fish off the runways in Botany bay really close to the Cooks, whats to say the fish haven't moved in after being up the Cooks or Alexandra Canal? Basically you can't be sure if the fish you caught has been living in a place you wouldn't eat it from or not since fish move around a lot to feed/breed or even depending on rainfall etc so no matter where you catch your fish if you're worried about dioxins and things in your fish then just fish catch and release and only take home the occasional fish Here is the recommendations for what you should eat out of the harbour </h3> You can read more info here http://www.foodautho...afood/#Overview
  13. Thats bloody nuts mate! The thought of all those harbour pylons and light line.... Though I gotta admit I'm loving using light tackle too, even just ordered some 1lb fireline and 2lb leader for a bit of fun...
  14. Somewhere in between the two mate! And cheers, I was stunned to pull it out myself, I called it for a big Taylor at first but when it got a bit closer and I saw the spots I was absolutely shocked at what it was
  15. Cheers! Yeah mate it went off like firecracker, it really didn't want to give in at all and it was only about 2kg... If they fight like that when they are only that size I'd love to hook into a 70cm model!
