  1. Nice fishing. Hey are there still a heap of small Jackets hanging around the drums?
  2. Excellent stuff. Sounds like all the hard work paid off. By the way was it squid or yakkas? Any hints on whether you were out of Botany or the Harbour? Cheers Don
  3. Totocorma, That's some good advice, by the way what size jigs do you use off the stones?
  4. Excellent video, That's a fish of a lifetime. You'll get every bum off the couch and out there trying to do the same after watching that. Cheers The Don.
  5. Nice catch. Reading all the reports I've bought a heap of jigs, but haven't managed to catch anything on them yet. Mind if I ask approx how far off-shore you were? Cheers TheDon
  6. Interseting to hear you say that. I was in the Bay on Sunday and we had a cracker of a day. We got 6 legal trevally (30-40cm), about 4-5 flatties (only 1 legal), 2 salmon, one bonnie and 1 taylor (35cm). Plus we dropped a few others. Amazing what a difference a day makes. P.S. Water was 17.9 degrees and we couldn't get any yakkas either. Everything was caught on Pillies and squid.
  7. I find it hard to believe that anyone has caught 7 legals from Moli point. I've been there 3 weeks in a row, we've landed around 25 kings and not one has been legal.
  8. That's pretty big for a bonnie. Good work We only managed 1 tuna last season, haven't seen any this season yet.
  9. That's an excellent trevally. Largest I've caught was 47cm off the rocks and that gave me some curry. I'm sure yours went even harder.
  10. Great work mate, I'm heading out tomorrow morning, I hope I have a similar experience. Cheers The Don
  11. What an amazing day. Something to remember forever.
  12. Congratulations on the Catch. Good to see the schools are starting to arrive. In terms of eating though, I disagree. There are definantly ways that you can make the "edible", however compared to most other table fish, Australian salmon are near the bottom of the list.
  13. What is the benefit of stating it at home before you go to the ramp? (other than making sure that it still works)
  14. Sounds like an awesome day. I've seen lots of reports of people doing well drifting around that area lately. I'm new to boating and only just learning how to drift properly. Do you mind if I ask what bait you were using and can anyone recommend how to rig up the line for a drift in open waters? Cheers The Don
  15. I'm also choosing between the Lowrance HDS5 and the Humminbird 788cxi. And Also the Lowrance Elite 5, which works out much cheaper when you consider it comes with the Navionics Gold Card. I'm not expecting any great deals at the boat show, but I'm hoping to just be able to have a play with them and ask a few questions to see which one to buy.
