  1. Hey monk, the problem can be easily fixed by folding up a small strip of cardboard and slipping it under the hood (opposite side to reel) before tightening it up. ps I work in a tackle store and recently found out daiwa had a pricing error on these rods, they are actually supposed to sell for double the price! sadly they are no longer available so whoever grabbed one are mighty lucky! Cheers
  2. I did release the smaller one but the big one unfortunatly died as these big fish so often do, especially on such light gear, we even tried towing it with the electric for a while but it kept rolling upside down so to me theres no point in releasing a fish that will surely die they definatly give it all theyve got!
  3. Finally heres the shot of that big jew, caught at one oclock in the middle of the day! Here it is the right way round! sorry!
  4. Thanks for the wraps guys Id like to say it was too easy, but fishing for jews with plastics is hard work and these fish are the results of many a fishless night and some times just wondering why the hell I bother! but the results are worth it! to answer a few questions at once I caught that fish casting to what apearred to be a whole stack of large arches on the sounder, they were hugging very close to the bottom and unless the plastic was worked right on their nose they wouldnt look at it. I do work at freddys erina and have done for nearly five years. I think you guys will break out in a sweat when you see the bigger one, I did! Ive just got to get the photos from a mates camera. I stumbled apon this site recently and think its great lots of keen jewie fisherman and It seems many keen to tangle with these fish on plastics it sure is a fun way to fish for them...
  5. here is a shot of the smaller fish I will post one of the bigger one later....
