Hey champ. Squid fishing at malabar is quite good but only on some days. I found that walking out further towards the head is a better place to fish. Try to find a flat rock platform which has a small crack in between it. Much more squid than near the boat ramp. And bigger ones aswell! Good luck mate!!

Hi raiders After work I decided to go for fishing session with my uncle and bro in law at hill 60. We arrived at 430pm.I started to rig up to chase kings. a 12ft rod with a 4000 saltiga 50lb braid and a rod to catch yellowtails. Right away I caught a small yellowtail and quickly threw him out under a floaty with 80lb fluorocarbon trace and a single black magic circle hook and within 10 mins the rod buckles over and up comes a rat king prob about 40cm it went right back into the drink. Caught another yellowtail this time it was a decent size one threw it out but nothing happened for an hour so I decided to rig up a yellowtail skewer spike to chase squid later that night then all of a sudden my reel started screaming zZZZZZz picked up the rod and right away I knew it was a decent size king. It tried to reef me so I turned the drag up it was still peeling line off I was afraid to turn the drag up anymore but at the same time I was afraid it would reef me. After an awesome 5min fight it was tired and landed my first king off the rocks!! I was cheering! Measured up to be 70cm and was kept for dinner Decided to take a break have smoko and wait for sunset to chase some squid. Watched my uncle spin with a squid skirt for bonito which I'm not a fan of I rather use a rapala clackin minnow. He manage to get 4 decent size bonito. Hill 60 is a mess with all the rubbish left behind I cleaned up what I could. I just hope everyone does the right thing and take their rubbish with them. Soon night came I started chasing squid and manage 4 for bait and a feed. All caught on a yo zuri aurie 3.5 jig in the pink colour. It was starting to get late so we packed up and went home

yeah i normally use the pink and orange ones for night they work the best for me and in the day a natural colour

hi raiders went to narrabeen with a couple of friends got there at about 7pm no one was around so we decided to get rigging up for some taylors. as soon as we rigged up we all casted out straight away one of my friends floaty light goes down but you could still slightly see it me and my other mate were saying maybe he didnt rig up properly he decided to just leave it in there but in about 1min the light came back up then back down right away. now we knew it was something he started to bring it in slowly until a big black thing appeared we got our headlights on and found it to be a BIG squid 1kg + found it all wrapped up on wire and ganghooks Fluke my mates first squid and what a monster. nothing but that one squid all night even tried jigging for them but no luck so we went home.

hi raiders .. im new here so hope yous enjoy my post =) On Wensday i had a day off work as work is very quiet atm so i decided to go fishing with a few mates to minnamurra. when we arrived at 6am i decided to go for yakkas for kingfish while i was putting a baitfish jig on i had a pilly out on gangies and it totally got smashed and i heard the drag go off so i ran to it and pulled him up easily on my new certate 3500hd custom it was a 65cm bonito . i started catching yakkas as soon as i got one i threw him out. in 10mins i caught another bonito smaller than the last, about halve an hour later the kings were in but all rats max 40cm got 4 of them all released but dont those fish pull for such a small fish it ran like a beast too bad we didnt get a feel of a legal size one always nextime. about an hour later Big aus salmon came in 60cm+ got about 4 of them kept 2 the next hour there was nothing so we decided to go home but what an awesome day fishing!!!!

hey dgf have you been to avoca lately ? its really good to go when the gates just open at 6:30 but be ready for the crowd to set in its always packed on weekends people camp there =(

the last 2 weekend i was fishing there at night and caught a few taylors 40cm+ and 2 silver trevally on floaty with ganghooks , pilchards as bait.
