Drifting off Ben Buckler - monster Gurnard
scottyboy replied to Pickles's topic in Saltwater Fishing Reports
Nice work Bob, that's the biggest I've seen. Did you measure it, it could be a Fishraider record 😉 -
Dude your killing it, how good is NZ. Hope you got to try some NZ wine. Your reports are awesome Albert, a true fish can adapt anywhere in the world and that's what you are. Stand tall brother and keep them reports coming. 🤟🐟

Ah the memories, fished there in my youth. Jump rock, up stream of the reserve is a good bream spot in summer, up steam from there it is very shallow but any holes will have fish in them including bass. Have caught a 3kg tailor up past jump rock and bull sharks up there to if your into that. Pm me if you want more info mate.

Awesome measuring device mate, nice fish to. Here's mine, by the way its a long neck. Pretty close to 40cm -
Sorry folks but after almost 40 years of fishing my perfect combo has been diawa reels with shimano rods. Whether it was BG's with taipan i don't know but it has worked. But everyone has there own choice. There's so many combinations out there you just have to find what works

Mate your killing it,fantastic effort and a beautiful fish . 🤑

Good on you mate, I wish I was there. Nothing like a good old feeding frenzy to get the old heart pumping. I got stuck on a sand bank about 25 years ago at Stockton Beach with sharks and dolphins smashing a school of salmon that was all around me. I still have my legs and still my favourite fishing story!!

Ok folks I'm going to clear this up. Firstly welcome to fishraider IDAN . I hope you enjoy the wealth of knowledge that this site provides, it is world class, there are so many fantastic people on here willing to share there experiences. You can reach the beautiful jeresulm bay by a walking track that starts on the eastern side of the station then a bridge over the F3 then a nice 30minute walk down hill to the bay. There are plenty of places to camp ,just got to use your inner bear grills and remember no fires. The fishing on and at the edge of the sand flats is fantastic about 3 hours either side of low tide. You can pump nippers and plenty of poddy mullet. You can wade across to the rocky outcrop at the NE end of the bay and has a deep drop of on the southern side. Watch out for stingrays when wading. This is exactly the same for berowra station (which is the stop before Cowan) which will take you to beautiful waratah bay. I hope this gives you a heads up mate. Cheers Scotty

Hey Donna,I think it's a type of chisel, was usaley whacked with a wooden mallet. I think it was used for more intricate trimming, I'd love to be corrected if I'm wrong. Cheers Scotty

Fuel tank breather? Cheers Scotty

Jezz Dave you really are the master of your domain. By the photos I would have thought you were in central Queensland some were not mid north coast NSW. Great to see you mentoring younger raiders . Keep up the reports mate. Cheers Scotty

This is what I think Dave's talking about(correct me if I'm wrong). Has worked very well in the past along side the brand name lures. Cheers Scotty

Wow Sam what a fantastic post, very detailed and no doubt comes from years of experience. I don't get to fish of Sydney anymore as I live on the other side of the range now. But I really appreciate the info you have posted and I bet so do the 1000,s of other raiders. Top stuff and thanks again 🤙 Cheers Scotty

It’s easy to get to just got to walk past the nudie beach .Suggest if you go to walk out there and sus it out before you fish. Seagull point (first point from the beach) is a good first spot to try .Just look on google maps mate 👍. It’s an awesome place to fish especially in feb, March and April .

Hey mate it's a little bit early for chasing tuna etc of the rocks. But places like Charlotte head south of forster have kings year round, that's a nice easy drive from Sydney. Cheers Scotty
