Hi All, I have just recently aquired a boating licence and plan to launch out first time this weekend @ Lansvale/Chipping Norton Georges river. This may be a dumb question but, Will i be able to ride out the river all the way to Botany Bay on low tide aswell?. Thanks appreciate all replies. Teo

Hey Kirkby, I too am a rider, sort of vice versa though.. started more into riding before fishing but nowadays my free time is taken up by fishing! no more riding =|. If in sydney, XC.. Manly damn is a nice intermediate flow. Downhill.. Menai has some great hills with knarly jumps i hear and also for a quick hit you can try Kentlyn national park. There's a handfull of trails in Canberra weather that be XC or DH .. Mt Stromlo for epic D/H. Cheers, Teo

Hi All, First off, great thread! Especially for me starting to get into jewfish. I needed to know if i was going about the correct/best way for a landing a Jew. My rig consists of main line braid twisted to a shock leader with a double hook rig for live yellowtails. Now i've had one hookup with this but failed as i tried to lift it up onto the pier by rod & line only!.(Line snaped) but would it be better if i were to have a heavy sinker hold the yakka down in one spot or shall i leave it to swim freely wherever it wants too..like i have been doing ?? Hi Raiders, 1st post for me as you can see is a Noob but quite important one to know. We're new to Boat fishing and was thinking/keen about going off shore, As title suggests the boat is a 16ft 90hp. Will this be suitable to travel off shore to various Sydney FAD locations ?. If yes, (pending on conditions).. can anyone recommend a good weather forecast site for weather/water conditions offshore Sydney & what are the dangers we should look out for?. If a big fat NO! why?.
