Looks like a great day there with a top feed to boot. Would love to hear how/where you gather your prawns, such good bait live.

Top report Sam, sounds like you are doing an awful lot right to have had so many shots at them in the one session. I'm sure your luck will change pretty soon and all of that pain will be well worth it. With all fishing, the more you have to work for it the more satisfying when it finally comes together.

Anyone using this?
HI Donna,
If you are referencing redmap I've never logged any catches but do occasionally have a browse out of curiosity to see what has been posted. lt's certainly a great idea with our changing oceans.

Top stuff mate, Wanda can be a tough beach to fish, I've certainly spent some long nights down there for not much.

Top stuff Yowie, you've had some good luck on the snapper over the last period of time, another cracker of a fish that one.

That's brilliant, what a fish for a young fella, especially on 2Kg.

I've caught quite a few kings to about 75-80cm on that sort of gear, fun tussle but definitely very doable.
Not an expert on lures for these guys as usually fish livies. Plastics or jigs seem to be the go too and I've caught some on both. One thing I've found that can work also though if you are just having a flick while you have some livies out is to use a bigish surface lure (popper or stickbait) to really just attract their attention. They will often follow it in and not strike but it can work well if you then have your livie on hand close by which they can switch too.

Top report mate, really looking forward to getting a live aboard trip one of these years.

Top work guys, love the pick of the Mako, would have been a blast I'm sure. Strange that we don't target sharks more often, good fun and at smaller sizes good eating.
From what I've read it seems Neill has had a rough go of it with the weather and fish on a few trips now to the coast, hope the luck improves mate!!

I was happy with 3 legals in the one day, one on a rod, and 2 on hand lines. One boat motored close to me as he was passing by, so I just let the jewie swim about on the hand line until he was some distance away. 😁
Yeah, most of the spots I fish these days are in the bays away from the main channels. Not because they are necessarily better spots, just that I can't stand the continual boats flying past, especially when I'm restricted to weekends...

Top stuff Yowie, awesome seeing the jew in such good numbers already.

Top fish mate, can certainly be trickier in the calmer water. Well done.
Nothing wrong with not going out of your way to pin point your exact fishing spot for the whole world. I've seen how much busier even well know landbased spots can get after some good reports. A report like this is still a much better contribution to the forum than the "where from", "can you pm me the GPS location", etc, brigade.
Cheers,

DId a days fly fishing over in Scotland some years back. The guide told me if I liked saltwater fishing I should come back one summer and try makerel fishing with him. He was a bit taken a back when I refered to his proud phots as slimies and told him we catch them six at a time and use them for bait haha.
Great reminder anyway. So many of our fish are just about knowing how to properly prepare them but I think we are just so spoilt with choice that most people don't bother branching out and trying new things.
