  1. JB is spot on you can still fish a small area of the western side of this bay , the yellow bouys are well marked , i fish this point often and drift into this area when fishing but as soon as i'm inside of the markers the rod goes back in the boat but plenty don't i just hope the poster B_S_J did this , and probably only he would know. All due respect to the MOD but the gun probably does need to go back in the holster until B_J_S can put his hand on the fishing bible and swear that he did follow the rules
  2. True story Rod , i read a a lot of posts as well and Trung has a good grip on the Bay , if i can get my trailer connection rewired tonight " thanks to my little 8 mth old Lab" i'll be hitting the Bay tomorrow after 1pm to flick some GULPS , i don't fish the AR's at all and get plenty just stalking the tugs and weed beds over at Kurnell ,Kings are something i definately need to chase but i'll need to upgrade a few line classes to hold on to them lol , keep an eye out for the "flickinlures" bowrider and come and say hello cheers Mark https://www.youtube.com/user/flickinlures
  3. Sounds like you are on the right track Kosta already The rod is a pretty important part of the rig and the lightest purpose built soft plastics ones are the best as that was the 1st mistake i made all those years back when i started out ,my rods are only around the $80 mark and the reels only $60 so you don't have to go crazy with the price, the jig head i find is all dependant on the conditions and the depth you are fishing.I mostly fish around the 3-4mtr mark and always have the wind at my back and fish a 1/8" jig head 4"gulp worm in pumpkinseed or watermelon . 6lb braid and 2 mtr flourocarbon leader If the winds are light i may have to step up to the next size jig head to get the distance. If you check out my youtube videos you will see the main action i use is just a slow lift of the rod , you can mix it up and it isn't an exact science trust me as i saw a 13yr girl at Forster flicking plastics into the lake system with a llightening fast heave of her rod hooking up to a 50cm flatty .But the main thing is making sure you hit the bottom watch your line goes slack and then start your gentle flick up wards.I'm sure you will get results with and bloodworm wrigglers as they are good and i reckon anything with a good tail action like the GULP worms have are the best type .Good luck mate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5aQI_R-TS8&feature=c4-overview&list=UUf3IZbKJhs2LAwu7_jOyiIA

  19. Thanks mate , boat is all good got couple of new scratches but thats why i have a tinny .I probably pushed it a little longer than i should have trying to save the jet ski but i was pretty confident everyone was going to come out unscathed as we all had PFD's on but there is always a risk i suppose ,I have nothing but praise for the professional guys in the police, waterways and volunteer coastal patrol who take on the big stuff outside, these girls were fortunate it was well inside the bay and not out the front.
  20. thanks fellas , i have no doubt any Raider would have done the same thing , just glad iv'e got a Tinny
  21. Had a interesting arvo last Friday trying to find a spot out of the 25kt SW winds , Molinuex Pt was the only place where the water was calm managed a stinkin pike there so i decided to head over to the other side to my usual spots but the winds made it almost impossible to flick the plastics .Was going to give it another 30 mins before heading off when i noticed 2 blokes who had just moored their work boat at Captain Cooks landing and were rowing back to the oil wharf in a little tinny the poor blokes were struggling so i went over a threw them a line and started to tow them in when a tug came over and took them the rest of the way , i then decided to call it a day and started to head back to the ramp it took me nearly 20 mins from the oil wharf to the edge of the 1st runway when i noticed 2 young girls on a jet ski drifting into the runway breakwall , i threw them the same line i had just tossed out to the row boat lads and tried to turn them away from the rocks but the swell was making it too hard and they were getting too close , they then fell off the ski with life jackets on thankfully and continued to drift into the rocks by this time i was getting close myself and yelled out to forget the ski and get in the boat i had to put the motor in neutral so they could jump up on the back step safely i grabbed the 2nd girls arms and dragged her in but it was too late and the "flickinlures" boat was banging sideways against the rocks " go the tinnies " while a A380 was taxiing right next to us witnessing the drama unfolding , i put the steering on full lock and threw it into reverse getting a couple of bathloads of water over the stern, the sound of my poor little boat scraping the rocks was a little worrying but the 2 girls were safe, as for the ski it was being bashed against the rock wall as we headed back to the ramp .I gave them my phone to call their parents who had by the way told them both not to take the ski out for the obvious reasons, the only smart thing they did that day was to call the police before i arrived , we met up with the Police on the way back and they asked if everyone was ok , they said they would try and salvage the ski if they could , not sure how they went .The parents were very glad to see their girls safely back on shore and couldn't thank me enough. Not much fishing was done but it certainly wasn't a dull arvo on the Bay.I did this little video just to show what the condtions were like , no footage of the rescue had no time lol
  22. top report mate , nice job on the rice presentation by the way
  23. I agree with MAKO the scent is the trick with limited solids , the quantity is up to the individual .I have 2 x 10kg chlorine buckets 1 with a heaps of 1/4" holes drilled all over it ,i find this size hole doesn't let too much solids out , i fill the bucket ( with no holes in it ) with a 1/3 of each ingredient , plus a dash of tuna oil about 200mls , mix it all up and top it up with fresh water throw on the lid and chuck it in the chest freezer ( the one in the shed ) once frozen all you need to do is tap the side of the bucket pop out that yummy ice block and drop it in the bucket with the holes in it and toss it over the side , will last for a few hrs .So the ratio would be - tuna oil 200mls : 10ltr bucket of solids 1: chicken pellets 2: shredded stale bread 3: left over fish frames cheers Mark
