    Botany

Great to see the little ones getting on the Bay,it's a fantastic fishery and i still have fond memories going out with my Dad in a little 10ft punt in the middle of the night powered by a dodgey inboard impeller motor catching flatties, and i'm sure your young bloke will be having the same good memories for years to come.Just check out that smile well done , and great work by that honest raider .
  2. I use the imovie program on my 15" imac pro laptop , it's pretty easy to use .It comes with all the movie trailer stuff you see in my clips so you can have some real fun with it cheers Mark
  3. Great stuff mate, give me a call i'll put the "flickinlures" touch to one of your kingie trips with the new Go Pro .Sessions like that need video , plus i could do with some coaching on the bigger stuff as iv'e only got a rat while chasing the Trevally inside the Bay cheers Mark
  4. It's a 2005 Horizon 525 aluminium bowrider 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke , does the job but can get a little wet going back to the ramp late friday arvos with that SE blowing as i leave the canopy off most trips cheers Mark
  5. That was unreal , bad luck missing what looked like a great fish fellas
  6. Yes mate it's a Go Pro3 silver edition with a piggy back battery and larger waterproof case, had some issues with fogging in this clip but a good clean and the use of the fog strips has helped on the later vids.Only just started to experiment with this camera as it has some good features , slow mo, time lapse etc i'm mounting it on a length of 40mm pvc pipe in the corner rod holders and will try to work out a few extentions to get some different angles , all the editing is done on a imac pro laptop using imovie. All up the camera cost about $500 with all the attachments.Always remember to set the HD settings on youtube as this is where this camera really shows it's clarity cheers Mark
  7. hey thanks Raiders , it tasted great too and has been the highlight of this year so far. cheers Mark
  8. I don't know how i missed putting this clip in my March collection , but i thought the Fishraiders would appreciate it .I go on a fair bit about Trevally but this little puppy gave me the fight of my life on my 6lb gear it went 48cm and had a snapper bump on his head something iv'e never seen before on these fish , i was !@$#$ bricks that i was going to lose him as the wind was pushing me in amongst the moored tugs ( water snake is next on the wish list ) the fight went for around 4mins but it seemed like an eternity. It's not often you get a PB on video but i'm glad i did with this one,i got him mid march and this may seem funny but it's up there with my Yellowfin from 10yrs ago
  9. well done mate what a great PB
  10. too funny , it was pretty hard trying to film the little bugger and do the netting at the same time , but thats what we do on the "flickinlures" boat cheers Mark
  11. Thanks fellas unfortunately no its not a Freedom Sport needed another $10k for that setup , it's a 7yr old 5.25mtr Horizon Bowrider with a 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke iv'e notched up 230hrs on it now so she gets used frequently, it's suits my needs on the bay well and outside on good days, the front bowrider seating area does have cushions but i take them out on fishing days and insert the centre board over the walkthrough so the whole front is one level. I'll have to add the Watsons Leaping Bonnie to my PB lol , it was a great little fight on my 6lb setup cheers Mark
  12. Took an old work mate of mine for a flick on Botany Bay last Friday ,old mate Ken came prepared with a tackle shop worth of gear that would target most species this side of the equator we eventually got on the water around 1.30pm and experienced some of the calmest condtions iv'e seen at that time of the day for a fair while, no sooner had we exited the Cooks river entrance we were confronted by fish literally jumping out of the water , this was supposed to be a teach an old salt new tricks with a lesson in that new fangled soft plastic lure fishing, but the temptation of the tailor was too great and we pulled up a proceeded to drag 1 fish in after another for the next 45 mins it was great fun and ol Kenny surprised me by the way he handled his light gear , even having a shot at my right handed winding of my reel .Unfortunately our session was cut short by a phone call from home but it was fun while it lasted. The count was around 12 tailor - all released 1 bonito 1 striped Mackrel ( i think please correct me if i'm wrong , looked like an over sized slimey )
  13. Great work mate , that size kingy is on my wish list and to get him in the condtions you described makes it even better well done
  14. thanks fellas , got the net handle extention in progress now so i don't miss that next big flatty. rgds Mark
  15. G'day Raiders The " flickinlures" boat has been out on a few trips this March , we have had some good fun on the plastics and metal slices and i have put together a couple of videos on youtube using my new Go Pro silver edition camera .My trip last Friday arvo 15th March was a good one having broken my PB Trevally record which now stands at 48cm it's a 5min clip but i wanted to keep the whole fight on record as it was so much fun this thing even had a snapper bump on it's head. Not long after i dropped a 90cm+ flatty at the boat ( unfortunately not recorded ) but i initally thought this thing was a shovel nose shark ,the old girl only realized a mtr from the net that shaking her head might snap my 6lb line "which it did " oh well it was the one that got away. http://www.youtube.com/user/flickinlures?feature=mhee
  16. While i was out on Botany Bat last Friday in the "flickinlures" tinny and baking in that 46deg heatwave i heard in the distance one of the 3 NSW Police brand new Naiad 9.5mtr soft collar aluminium launches roar across the bay up near the oil wharf .The 2 very lucky officers opened up the twin 250 Yamaha 4 strokes on the back of this great looking vessel and went out through the heads .At a cost of 300k each and with a top speed of 45 knots not sure if there is anything on the water that would out run these things.Later in the arvo returning back to the Kyeemagh ramp on the cooks river i was starting to get a little peeved at the jet skis speeding up and down the 4 knot zone doing donuts in front of the ramp i showed my displeasure to a couple of these numbnuts as my boat was getting smashed up against the side of the pontoon, but soon smiled from ear to ear when this new bad boy lit up his new flashing lights and pulled this twit over .Well done to the NSW police and Waterways for keeping these guys in check, Click on the link and check out this thing.
  17. Holy Snappin well done mate , you should have put a boot in front of that red i reckon you would have been a walk up start for "catch of the month "
  18. just putting my Forster trip link back up Forster xmas 2012
  19. Good to see Forster getting a mention guys looks like you had a good session Hey Roberta ,my family and i will be up there from xmas day we have a place in Taree st , i just love Forster , so Flickinlures will get some videos for our fellow raiders on what a top spot it is , i had a good little session at the bridge on the Tuncurry side with the chopper tailor with my brother in law a few months back i have also got a nice little spot around near the drop off where i got a couple of 60cm + flatties , we also ran into an old boy there a few years back who showed me a trick to slow the drift through the channels between the leases he lobbed a besser block over the side on a rope he actually had 2 sizes a half block and a full block too funny , he also had 3 big Flatties on board so it obviously worked "tight lines"
  20. it's tight as a drum , iv'e dropped it down on a snapper sinker in around 4mtrs , still workin fine , iv'e just bought a 32GB micro SD card which nearly cost as much as the camera $45 lol but it will take plenty of hrs now trying it out tmoro on the Bay cheers Mark
  21. Hey Jeff It's all thanks to an Apple imac pro laptop using imovie it makes even a dodgey old producer like me look like Taranteno watch out for Sunday nights upcoming movie as i'll be taking my 18yr old son and his 4 mates out on Botany Bay should make for a real comedy
  22. Great work mate , the GO PRO setup is the best for sure just looked at a few of your vids we might be able to swap some production ideas lol keep it up
  23. Great fish mate , i can understand the trouble getting the old girl going again i had the same problem with my PB 74cm lizard i caught last year but she was lucky it took me a good 10 mins swimming her along side the boat before she took off in a hurry.
