  1. Well done guys great pics good to see them fight another day ,I have been smashing the bream and Trevally on plastics every Friday arvo for the last month,i think it's time i have a crack at the big boys on the corner myself, were you drifting or anchored , what size jig heads were you using? Rgds MG
  2. Headed out again on my usual Friday arvo plastics session , it was windy and choppy but this never worries me when i'm throwing these lures as it helps the flight whilst using light line 2kg in this case. After arriving at the SPOT ( without being too specific anywhere along the groynes from the oil wharf down to Bonner Point in about 2-3mtrs of water on an incoming or outgoing tide will produce fish just look for the weed beds and fish over them keeping your lures just above them) i quickly threw in my favourite 4" Gulp watermelon worm and on my second cast bagged a nice 36cm brim , got a few more smaller 26cm specimens but they all lived to fight another day,it went quite at the bottom of the low tide so i took off to captain cooks bridge but this only turned into a sight seeing tour with no hits at all.back to the SPOT on the incoming tide proved to be the right decision as i soon had everything from Trevally, brim,Tarhwine and flatty's engulfing my lures, but the best was soon to come when i had to shorten my 4"watermelon gulp after the peckers had slashed the head to pieces but had left the tail alone, so after this modification was done it went back in the drink to be monstered by what i 1st thought was a big brim as it wasn't doing the usual circles around the boat , then it woke up and man what a fight i reckon the trick to keeping this 47cm puppy attached to my 2kg fireline was the backing off of my drag i just let it run a little more than i usually would it was a good 3-4min fight .I still beleive these things are the best fighters out doing any Brim or Flatty on their day,and taste great too fresh !!
  3. Nice Trevally Pete , you and i must have been the only 2 crazies out there on Friday arvo it sure was blowin hard , i was drifting off the Kurnell groynes and got 6 Trevally to 46cm , 1 squire and 1 bream both 32cm on 6lb braid using Gulp 4" watermelons .My PB Trevally is 49cm but that is a monster on 2lb well done. Hey guys!
  4. Very Nice Flatty,well done !!
  5. G'day Steve , I use mainly the 4" watermelon gulp worms on a 1/8 ounce nitro jig head ( step up to 1/4 ounce when the breeze is less ) attached to 6lb braid with 6lb invisible leader approx 2mtrs long my gear is just a small 2000 spinning reel 7'2" 1 piece plastics rod, always have success on all the 3" and 4" gulp worm range , but as soon as you lose the little tail on the end their useless.Fish anywhere in the bay in 2-4mtrs of weedy water Rgds Mark
  6. Headed out to the bay on Friday arvo to flick some plastics at the trevally for a few hrs , the tide was running out, there was some good cloud cover and a slight breeze just perfect!.No sooner than my very 1st cast hit the water a little 30cm screamer inhaled my 4" watermelon gulp, pretty good start to the arvo ,then over the next 2-3hrs i had boated 12 keepers 4 over 45cm those puppies took me 3 times around the boat before i got them in the net i threw back 4 under 25cm and lost 3 when they spat out the plastic.Great day on the bay!!
  7. Yeah well done for throwing it back , those blokes are the ones fisheries will eventually catch up with
  8. Headed out for the usual Friday lunch time departure from Cooks River ramp , after having a chat with the lads at Botany Bay bait n tackle we geared up with some frozen Hawksbury squid , fresh prawns, sand worms and a few other bits n peices we felt we should be set for a reasonable arvo.Got to Molinuex Pt around 1.30pm ,had a berly going and dropped 4 lines down to the 16mtr mark , 2 light rigs with sandworms and prawns , 1 whole squid bait on 30lb braid and a 15lb ****** Jervis Walker special loaded with a massive hawksbury prawn, and guess what took off 1st ladies , yes thats right the the Jervis walker screamed like a runnaway train , it was one of the hardest runs iv'e seen from a rat king ever and on a feekin prawn ,this thing was on steroids probably loaded with super from the refinery maybe , my offsidder was dissapointed once we measured him up to 56cm , sorry champ too small was my call a quick photo and it was back in the drink , we went for another 3 hrs and landed flounder ,bream ,flattys and a nice soapy around 52cm all in all a good arvo on the bay
