  11. Have started giving Wisemans a few baits with the weather warming back up in hopes for a little action. Unfortunately not much to report but a few eels and little flathead. Anyway Donna made the call to try on the other side of the ferry and wanted to check out Spencer. So with that call car was packed in a blink of an eye and away we go. Weather was absolutely awesome and calm when we pulled up and an hour before high tide. Had some really nice fresh hawkesbury squid out on the big rods in case the jewies were about but no luck. Had a light set up out with a half pillie on it for either a bream tailor or flaty and.. Bingo[emoji106][emoji106][emoji476] tide started turn and a nice 61cm flaty was in the net. 2 mins later cast back out and on again. a smaller flaty was and I'm not sure if it spat the hook or I pulled it but off it swam. Now the wind had picked up and it was stinking hot and getting hard to cast but no hard enough to get another bait out. 5 mins later on again and big tailor about 40cms was coming in. Got it in close and chomp!!! straight through the leader witch I had half hitched the tail of my pillie with. All in all was an awesome day out n about with my girl and nice feed for me. cheers[emoji476]spotiendotie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Hey there raiders just another little write up on the wisemans with a little more success. With about an hour left of work yesterday I get a phone a call from my p.i.c Donna saying I checked the tides and they are lookin good so make sure you stop and grab bait cause I'm cookin dinner early and we are goin for fish!!! Haha with no complaints from my mouth we are off and hitting the warf. Got there about 6 and launched out the baits. Within 20 mins one of my squids intended for a Jew got smashed by a fat 32cm bream! No fight on the jewie gear but a feed none the less. With tide starting to top out around 9ish one of doties rods bend in half n peel line!! We didn't see it strike so at first hopes were for a Jew! After ten mins of this thing puttin my little mrs through a weight session of a life time she brings up a monster ray about a metre across the wings! She was wrapped at the fight this beast gave her and a lot of people say rays don't fight!! Well the big buggers we been catching aren't the target but have been great sports on the fight lately. Runnin up n down the river and striping plenty of line. Anyway cut that off and re rigged hoping for a few more I thought I would try for some livies because the water was boilin with livies. Nabbed 2 tailor and out goes the livies. Not much happened so thought its gettin late n the tide gushin out its time for home. Starting pullin my livies in n to my suppose a nice 60cm flattie sucked down one of my tailor. All in all another successful night and a good feed for the table. Cheers spotiendotie!! 23. thanks pete. And you are spot on about the underrated wisemans. It can be very hard fishing anywhere in the Hawkesbury but it dose produce a lot of cracking fish. You can have 50 fish less trips and throw every bait at em for zip. It's all about enjoying just being there and once you work out time of year and what tide is best for what spot and so on you find out that the hawkesbo is still loaded with whoopers. Was speaking to a pro down there few weeks ago and he rekons he netted a metre and half long flattie up near mills creek and has been getting massive Jews busting through his net over near the 4 knot sign on the other side. So definitely worth getting amongst it. Cheers spotiendotie..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
