  1. thanks for that motty. what kindve retrieve do you use on them? Have a pack in my tacklebox but no idea how to use them lol
  2. good job! looks like a fun session. How did you fish with the sandworms?
  3. jimpee

    beach worms

thanks for pointing me into the right direction guys. will have a look into it
  4. What methods do you use to catch them? Any other tips I need to keep in mind?
  5. http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/recreational/regulations/sw/sw-bag-and-size Good to keep size limits in mind while fishing for a feed.
  6. very nice. thats a southern cali
  7. dont need any expensive gear to catch livies. a handline is suffice. just gotta burley up. when theyre around slow down the burley and throw your line into the burley trail. you can also use something called a sabiki rig.
  8. I too am interested in different lures effective for surf fishing. So far Ive only tried the silver halco twisy lure in 40g. Casts a mile and has gotten me salmon and tailor so far.
  9. they are good to eat. taste better than arrowheads if cooked right they are a pain in the ass to clean so i dont usually keep them unless theyre big. they seem to hold A LOT of ink
  10. lol i dont see any mullets in the pics! Usually I catch mullet for bait. Would be interested in how people cook them up aswell.
  11. There is a time and place for Japanese techniques. When the squid are very timid you kinda need to wake them up with rapid movement of the jigs. I have outfished people on wharves many times with Japanese techniques. I always start with a slow retrieve, then fast. If they both don't work then I start using the Japanese techniques so its good to learn.
  12. Sweet I can finally get something out of my licence fee. Thanks for the heads up!
  13. How far up the Georges river would you consider fish to be safe to eat?
  14. Different days different colours. My usual go to colour is bright pink If that doesn't work then I use a more natural colour.
