  1. Best comment ever! Feels like it that way, especially when nothings biting.
  2. Awesome, they look alot like our Barra's, I'm surprised thye can reach that size, I wonder if our fish would ever grow to that size if we didnt fish them out.
  3. Hi Anroo, I would go up to the entrance and have a go under the Hwy Bridge there or in the channel near the mouth, whiting seem to be on the bit, and always a good chance for Flat heads and Breams. Good luck. Try to fish the Tide changes particularly low tide for whiting. If you are willing to travel further, and have a boat, Lake Macquarie/Swansea is a great fishing location, or in Tuggerah Lakes there at the entrance can produce some big fish. Further south, you can fish in the hawkesbury river, Patonga beach off the rocks there on the northern end.
  4. Well Done, Boating for the first few times is always nerv wracking! I've been doing it for a couple of years and I still get nervous sometimes. My recommendation is always SAFETY FIRST. Check and double check everything, make a safety check list if you have to, and check it before you head out every time. After a while you will memorise it and it will become second nature. Then Take it nice and slow until you become more experienced not only on the boat, but in the area and environment you are boating in. Lastly always watch the weather. As a beginner, only go out in good conditions until you get better experience. Nice job on the Flattys!
  5. Another top haul! If you have peeled prawns they do well on the breams along the beach/rockwall around little patonga beach. Water is quite shallow (2-4m), but theres not many "pickers" to take the bait so you are bound to get a decent sized bream or a refund on your bait!
  6. The smaller ones do taste better thats a fact! Patonga is a great spot especially along the little patonga beach for bream and Flatties. Caught a monster Flatty in broken bay just off Flint and Steel 2 weeks ago. But that Boat ramp really needs a pontoon! its very difficult with the wind and also low tide!
  7. Great report! However I think the title is a bit inappropriate.. I suggest changing it so as not to offend some people.
  8. Welcome to Sydney the most expensive city in teh world now apparently.
  9. Great Catch, what did you use as bait?
  10. Hey Scratchie, thats very Impressive. I will be going up to Port stephens/nelson bay for the first time (staying at little beach) in the next week. I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on general areas to try for whiting and jew. I dont need your "go to spot" I'm sure you would like to keep it a secret, but something I can entertain the wife and kid and overseas guests with (so they dont get bored and never want to come fishing again!). It's such a big area, im worried I could go to wrong spots and either bore them to death or worse, be in a dangerous area. I am aware of the protected areas though!. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
