Hi everyone, looking to take the boat out on Saturday at the entrance possibly and want to know if anyone's had any luck in the channel or near the bridge or heard of anything being caught? Thanks
Would have been sloppy today but fishable, very little wind tommorow so the swell should be pretty smooth, hoping to go out tommorow early out of botany
Hi guys, so apparently there were a few bluefin and yellowfin caught not far off Browns today apparently all on the troll, heard a few boats confirm it on the radio does anyone have more info on this or can anyone confirm?
Used to use sea surface but been experimenting with different sites, do you have a link for that one?
Been listening to the radio apparently reports of fish each of Browns and out of Sydney but their not confirming exactly where apparently Gale Force had a multiple hookup
Hoping to go south east out of Sydney, cal sign kadavu, probobly going to be a game of luck but looks like the temp break has moved a bit south on one of the temp charts anyone got any updates from today so far?
True, I think it'll be a matter of being out there right place right time, heard of a couple get caught between Browns and heatons a few days ago don't know specific but
Gonna try our luck tommorow at Browns in the morning then probably trawl out south east if we hear anything. Anyone else going out or heard what the water temp is like?
Swells the only thing we are unsure of, hasn't been an issue in the past if there wasn't much wind, just hoping to bottom drop at Browns a couple hours then trawl maybe...
Out of interest has anyone been outside of Sydney the last day or two? Wind looks really good but bit of a swell just deciding whether it's worth heading out to Browns thanks.
We've always had most luck in around 380-430m mark but we get hits in deeper water so it's hard to say. I think it's a matter of being in the right place at the right time
Nearly perfect conditions out there today and to top it off managed a good feed with 2 blue eye, the biggest going just over 20kg. Saw a couple other boats get amongst them but very little surface action.
The red things are the stomachs of the fish when they suffer from barotrauma it happens to them
We caught them most on dead yellowtail but we lost some larger fish on squid as well so a bit mixed
Well despite the very poor conditions we had over the 3 days the secret spot still managed to produce landing 10 fish and keeping 6 with the largest going just over 6kg. Due to the strong wind we had over the whole weekend it wasn't as easy to keep on top of the fish but it was a welcome change from being stuck at home as we hadn't been away since Christmas time. Overall a very fun but wet weekend!
