  1. Fished the Hawkesbury today from wisemans to spencer in search of a crab and hopefully a Jew in between lifts , very disappointing no crabs at all ,and only soaps on the rod biggest going a measly 38 cm . very quite indeed ,has anyone had any luck elsewhere in the river.
  2. Well done mate ,had a similar surprise some 20 years ago on the Hawkesbury river bass fishing , I was hooked into a bass around a pound on a surface lure when a all mighty smash broke the water, after around a 15 min fight a Jew of about 20 lb come to the boat, it took one look at my ugly mug and dove to the depths making short work of 8 lb leader never to be seen again . a great experience I will never forget, has anyone else ever had a similar experience while fishing the brackish waters of our rivers
  3. I am glad you're enjoying your fishing ,can I suggest you check the rules and regs on catching and releasing REDFIN especially in your doing it on video, tight lines

  8. for the PM guys a good work out, fishing two 37kg sticks with 80lb braid and 130lb leader ,or what i refer to as THE COME HERE RODS the left shoulder this morning still has the pins and needles feeling 🙂 molineaux point is where they are holding, around the green markers. only cast out 30 feel with a small weight to sink the squid slowly double 7.0 circles ,they will hook themselves .once their on ,use two rods only land a fish when the other is hooked up .this method seem to keep them firing . hope the young fellow has fun
  9. Hit the channel markers at botany this morning at first light , 5 lb of squid and big expectations, well 4 hours of rats 55 to 63 cm , 71 fish boated . The fun wore off after the first dozen, but keeped tell myself there has got to be a couple of good ones in between them , Off the water by 9.30 empty bait box and empty fish bin ,on a positive note ,it would be a great time to get the young ones out there or the novice fisher person they would have a ball and be hooked for life . off to ice the shoulder, only rats but they took their toll on the rod arm lol

  17. Googles and snorkel a tea towel wrapped and tape around forearm, was my best way to catch a quick feed down Windang paddle out to the drop off on the last on the run in tide than float back to the boat ramp with the run out tide hanging on to the yack. grab them face first and than they grab you on the forearm, we'll most of the time anyway, this was also the best way to target the big males good fun
  18. If you want to try something now try a chicken drumstick I had two left out by mistake while cooking on the river last weekend as o joke put one on the hook half hour later 89cm landed by the 13 year old daughter she is shore it the best bait ever ,being her first cod no photo iPhone didn't like the drop in the drink from my top pocket on the release all good still have the memories

  20. After a smashing the whiting sat morning ( ref to whiting fun post ) I decided to have a day on the blackfish started out at Kelso park and fished several spots all the way to lugarno 6 sold hours !!! YEP you guessed it a donut not a single down . A first for my self after 40 years of the dark art , kept looking to the sky for a sign from the old gentleman that first took me under his wing and pass on his skills, as he thought no one was interested in the humble blackfish any more . Well that was along time ago and another story . So did any one else get on to a few up the rivers ?? If so how far up I know there is plenty on the chew down the front . OFFTO PONDER MY NEXT ATTACK might heras the trout at wang
