  1. are they still around at night? i've been trying at night and having not much success You been trying off Wallies Wharf, Bundeena Wharf or South Cronulla Point? I use 20-40pound leader to get myself out of snags as I found the squid unlike fish are not scared of by the leader size. From shore at night I use a 1-1.5g jig with a small glow stick attached to the leader about a metre or so away. When it gets real hard I dip the jig in tuna oil Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  2. Garry you still need to show me some spots in Botany Bay as I heard there is more to fishing than just squidding. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  3. Bate Bay just outside the Port Hacking, there is plenty of little reefs and weedy areas that always clean up just make sure there is weed. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  4. Yeah mate it was from a small tinnie (4m). Dark coloured jigs (brown/green) worked well whilst the coloured jigs struggled hard. Early morning from about 6-9am normally works best as they seem to really die off as the sun comes out. There were plenty out as we were seeing 2-3 other squid coming up with our catch. 5. Went for a quick jig just outside Bate Bay as I haven't been fishing for a while. Got a decent catch in about an hr or two, though no big ones like I use to get. Tried for some winter flatties but every cast my gear turned into Houdini and went disappear from those awesome Jackets that I hope stay around for ever. 600ml Drink Bottle for size comparison. 6. Thanks guys motor run perfectly so i did not worry about the rust on the outside of the spark plug.
  7. Assuming by pinhead leak that i would not be able to see the water coming from the spark plug as it is too minor.
  8. Hey Guys Looking at a second and boat tomorrow and curious about the corrosion on the spark plugs, while everything else is really clean. Any thoughts would be appreciated
  9. Looks very neat for a DIY, nice work. First one I seen with the inlet higher then the outlet but if it works why not. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  10. Very impressive, I bet a lot of time went into it. Nice work. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

    Boat Trailers?

Does anyone know if the trailer was made before the 750kg rule came out, does it still need brakes attached or is it only for trailer made after the rule was enforced. 1 in 5 is about right LOL, I am guessing the boat is under 750kg when sold (no petrol, esky or fishing gear). Boat Trailers?

Thanks for the info. Just I have emailed a few people in regards to their 4.75-5m boats and they either have no idea what trailer brakes are or they don't have them. Surely combined weight is over 750kg how were they able to be sold like that? There must be heaps of people driving around with trailers over 750 with no brakes. Boat Trailers?

Hey Guys Haven't been on the forum for about 2 years cause i sold my boat, now i am missing it so want to purchase another one. Though something i never heard before was about this 750kg limit then brakes are needed no matter what vehicle you have. If this is true how come every boat i am looking at that is has to be over 750kg does not have brakes on the trailer? Thanks Vandal
  16. Hey Shadda Yeah you are right caught on a squid. Trolling weightless live squid at about 3km/hr with a single circle hook in the very back of the squid.
  17. Hey Mr Squid. We only threw down a squid jig for a about 20 mins and caught 7 squid. We did get one pretty big one which may look small due to it being next to such a big kingfish in the picture. Kingie was caught randomly in the middle of nowhere, was heading out and saw a huge school of yakkas busting up on the surface about the size of a tennis court. Just lucky
  18. Hey Guys I have not posted in a while because all i have been catching is hundreds of squid and i have already blasted you guys with to many of those reports. Anyway going to keep this one short and simple. Kingie - 1 metre Flounder - 35cm Squid - The usual. The flounder is the brown thing under the squid if you are wandering where it is in the pic.
  19. Hey Hamerz Got a PM of A.Dawg only. Send again as long as it's not hey buddy can you tell me where you catch your squid.
  20. Hey Buddy Sutherand Shire They are all from winter. Last month or 2 no idea which ones are more fresh then others.
  21. Hey Guys Lately i have been getting very lazy with my squid heads and wings and just putting them in a bag and freezing them together. Normally i put heads in ziplock bags and wings in icecream cntainers so they fit nicely in the freezer. Anyway these big bags of frozen squid is taking up to much room someone please come take them. Great bait and some squid are whole still from even lazier fishing trips. Estimate 10kg i need to get rid off as i can't close the door properly and everything is starting to really ice up.
  22. Hey Guys Probably noticed by now i don't catch much but calamari i kinda got an addiction. Anyways went out over the weekend for a squid session which started of pretty poorly as we had alot of throw back calamari (hoods that are under aprox 20cm since there is more effort cleaning them then they are worth eating). After about half a dozen throw backs we decided this is the only size we may catch today, so we started keeping them as the cleaning effort is better then nothing to eat at all. Then we finaly hit a school of some decent size calamari. Brother got a little Shovel aswell imbetween the 10 thousand undersized flatties.
  23. Maybe post a new thread somewhere to see how many would be interested? Sure you could find a few.
