  1. Congrats. Well done on letting those big ones go. If people knew how old those big bream are they would think twice about killing them at that size
  2. Using snaps will affect your catch rate on certain species. I guarantee you will struggle to find one angler who competes on the bream and bass circuits who uses a snap. That says a lot. Practise and become confident in tying a decent loop knot. It only takes a few extra seconds to re-tie another lure or jighead onto your leader.
  3. I hope some fisheries officers do show common sense when interpreting this rule. If I go out for a days lure fishing, I have at least 4 rods rigged with an assortment of hardbodies and plastics for bream and flathead. But i will only have one of these in the water at any given time.
  4. Hi mate, I put my yak in at the boatramp, paddled straight over to the area around flatrock. There are a couple of little rocky points that have little reefs and weed around them. I spent a couple of hours casting arond those points and reefs, I ended up with about 15 that we cooked up on the barby for lunch . Any area down there where there is a bit fo reef and weed you'll get them. early morning or dusk are the better times. good luck.
  5. Hi mate, I was down there for a couple of days between christmas and new years. Took my yak down and had a crack at some squid. They were everywhere. Cant help you on the snapper front but if you try and get some fresh squid for bait first up you might have better luck on the snapper
  6. Hi mate, The upper shoalhaven river and tallowa dam are great bass fisheries. A kayak is preferred if you want to get amongst the more productive areas. Get out there and explore the upper reaches of any river that flows east. searching new water is half the fun.(google earth is great for spotting potential bass spots) cheers Robbo
  7. It was a great weekend up there. It started off a little slow with just one fish each off the surface in the first session. Then we worked out a bit of a pattern and then they started to play ball. All fish were in great condition and the majority fell to small spinnerbaits in natural colours.
  8. Thanks Greg, I'll ask my local to get some in, if that fails, I'll contact Brad and put an order in. Robbo
  9. Hi Greg, They look awesome, Im definately going to get some for my trip to fiji. Where abouts did you get them from? I have found a few places on the net but none are selling that squid imitation on the bottom right(im thinking kings will love them) Thanks in advance Robbo
  10. Awesome report Greg, What was the standout stickbait and popper for the trip? Cheers Robbo
  11. Congrats mate, thats a cracking fish. well done
  12. Hi mate, check out the 'mega fishing thailand' website, there's heaps of options. Or get in contact with Jean Francious, the guy is a legend in thailand, he has so many fishing world records its ridiculous. Fishing one day at Bungsamran and predator lake is possible when staying in bangkok, i have been to both and cant reccomend them highly enough. You will come home with the sorest arms and catch fish you've never dreamed of. If you are a keen lure fisherman, try and get out and do some snakehead fishing with jean francious, its all surface fishing with poppers and buzzbaits in any one of the resoviours scattered around thailnd (just like our dams). Hope this helps Robbo
