I have had exactly the same problem after rigging them on jigheads with a bit of super glue to hold them on and then putting them all in the same packet . The grubs went very soft and stuck together and the other plastics went hard. I thought it might be the fumes from the superglue but I guess it is the interacting with other grubs and other plastics from what you blokes are saying

Had a fish from 2 of my favourite spots a couple of ks apart on the north side of the harbour on Sunday morning near Mosman both were hopeless due to a plague of those little striped leatheries . First time it was a problem this year . Are they everywhere at the moment or was I just unlucky?

Yes and yes . Just between the boats either side about 1/2 way along . I have also caught them between the boats off the rock wall which runs along the channel. The Manly float triumphed again . I am so used to it now I may well fall apart when it eventually gets lost or broken.

Had a few days away at Bermagui last week . We had a boat and fished with SP's and lures with limited success . Did best off the wharf for ludes and thanks to advice from Roberta and coaching from Rick and Roosterman I managed to get my act together and caught quite a few . Some kids staying on a boat were fishing nearby with bait and an anchor sized sinker and then a float suitable for suspending a yakka under it finally got annoyed enough with their relative lack of success to ask us how to catch them . We sent them off to buy a small float then set them up with the rest of the rig and some weed . They managed to catch 3 and were very happy and it was fun for us to see them succeed too.

My worry with the Manly floats is that they seem to get waterlogged . They start off very bouyant but halfway through the session they sink and before you know it they are well underwater with no hope of getting back up . (Manly) Rob

I just met Rick yesterday and we fished together for a couple of hours with limited success but I can testify to what a friendly and generous bloke he is. I learned a lot from him in just a short time . On top of the knowledge, he gave me all the fish, his leftover weed and couple of his beautiful hand made floats . Just a lovely bloke and good company too. He told me about his double hookup adventures on Saturday. A couple of weeks ago I also met Roosterman with a couple of his mates . They too were very helpful and a great advertisment for this site. I feel privileged to now be member myself.

Hi Roberta When I was there last year the lake was closed off . Is that still the case ?
