G'day folks looking at a Quinny seaman 4.5m Quinny with a 15hp on the back (2 year old yammy) Posted on Facebook and lots of comments about it being too underpowered- we don't need to go fast as we will be downrigging middle harbour, but also heard about the hull being classic for broaching. Is the 15 too dangerous to have on that boat if I wanted to go out to the heads and whatnot? Thanks heaps in advanced- sorry if you saw this on social media too just really trying to get some more great opinions

Hey raiders, quick question about bilge pumps on the transom for the live bait tank. Can the standard bilge keep sucking water when underway? I realise heaps of people have a pickup attached to the boat too but I have an old Haines 445r and would prefer to just mount the bilge with sikaflex

Hi Raiders, Just recently had our brand new 15hp Merc pinched from our tinnie outside our house, it was the third motor we had for the boat so we have decided to upgrade. We have been scouring all the second hand boat sites and are thinking a fibreglass hull something around the 16ft mark or so with a reasonably newish outboard say under 10 years old(we have done the 40year old outboard thing and hated it haha!).. We were hoping to get out the heads a bit on a clam day and maybe hit some of the inshore reefs for snapper and kings. This being said we have seen heaps for under about $7k so this seems to be what we have decided on for a price range. We have been looking at a bunch of Nautiglass 149 boats with 75hps on the back and are aware of soft spot issues etc. Would love a bit of information or advice on buying a new boat especially whether these boats would be suitable for a bit of offshore fishing. Still planning to do heaps of harbour fishing also. Hopefully that makes sense, my brain is dead from looking at too many second hand boats!! Cheers Sam

Gday Raiders, Planning a road trip for November with a couple of uni mates and a half cab Haines Hunter. We are hoping to head up the coast in search of some serious pelagic action. Thinking maybe up to Coffs Harbour or a bit further north and anything in between (travelling from Sydney). Just wondering if anyone has any advice on good destinations for a group of amateur fishos after a good time :D. We do a bit of downrigging in Sydney for kingies so have a bit of experience on the water but just after some good advice. Thanks guys Sam

Hey raiders, just got a quick question and would love some advice. So i forgot to take the bungs out of my 12ft tinny the other day and when it bucketed down last week or something pretty much the whole boat filled with water. So apart from the stress on the trailer and all that i was a bit worried about the fuel tank because i leave the tiny screw top lid above the normal lid open so the tank can breathe. I didnt see whether or not the tank was under water or not but im worried that water might have got in. Is there any way to check or should i just empty all the fuel out to be safe. Cheers guys Sam

Gday Raiders, Planning to launch at greenwich tomorrow to hit some of the markers in the harbour. We have only fished the markers once or twice before and we were drifting past them. Just thought I'd ask, is it a better option to anchor up and drop baits and lures down or is anchoring prohibited? Any advice wouldn't go astray Cheers Sam
