  1. Thanks for that stacko they sure do look like an awsome rig
  2. Nice fish mate well done We have had 2 fruitless days out there even went 15mile past heatons today for zeros very depressing Sorry to change topic but I notice you have a evolution is it a 6m I have been looking at one of them myself how do u find it
  3. Thinking of heading out Tom but weather looks very ordinary and doesn't get any better till monday
  4. Great fish mate well done where bouts in fiji where you on the mainland or on an island
  5. I would say a decent size stripe marlin as the size of the top fin and the long skinny bill as no colour from the picture can be considered
  6. Yes scent blazer grassy is just before Scott's head cheers mate
  7. Quick report come up south west rocks to fish for the weekend got out yesterday with my mates young bloke went down fish rock for zeros then put some lures in and set out for the fad got on to heaps of dollies and took 5 fish at 80cm then put lures in again and started heading towards home when in 80m the zacatak lumo sprockets gets smacked by a solid stripe so the young fella goes on the road and fought it out for 30 mins with it and done a great job as well in testing nor east winds anyway got him up slipped a tag in him then took some pics and set it free Then today we headed up grassy and got some Spanish and spotties in atrocious conditions so so far has been well worth the drive
  8. I know tell me bout it thought we were in for a cracker day water was blue temp was good headed fair way up north but didn't turn another reel that fish come right on the tide change thoughHey Jamestown the slimies were from 30 to 50m line there were balls of them everywhere hopefully the little blacks find them soon
  9. Got cancelled for work today so looked at the weather and seen it looked good all day and as all the reports of marlin coming from port stephens I said to the apprentice stuff it lets go try get a marlin and as he gets paid for the day he wasn't saying no We put in at broken bay loaded up on slimies which were everywhere out the front and headed for the fad but was very disappointed to find green 20dg water and 30cm dollies didn't even bother so shot out to 80fathoms where there was a current line and temp jumped straight to 22.8 so put the spread out and started trolling just got the riggers sorted and about to throw the teaser out and whack the 30 starts screaming on the short rigger I couldn't believe it literally 5 mins in I thought this is going to be a good day we had a firstly black putting on a great aerial display the apprentice was beside himself it put a good fight up for 15mins then we slid a tag in his shoulder and got hold of his bill for these pics Then swum her for a bit and let her go the apprentice was stoked being his first ever marlin then we trolled the rest of the day for zeros but didn't mind hottest water temp was 23.8 at 120fathoms that's as far as I ventured out fish was caught on a zacatak Shrek cockroach
  10. Took the young bloke out for a fish today hopefully to find him flathead or bream or anything that would bite and keep him busy we just anchored up on a sandy point at wisemans and sent out fresh peeled prawns and in no time he had a little flatty on and was over the moon then in come a bream and a lot of little soapy Jews so he was stoked then the action slowed down so I went to another spot and threw some peeled prawns out and bang his rod loads up and it's giving him a good fight then after a little bit a nice flatty is in the net his smile and excitement was priceless he was so stoked and so was I I think I have a fishing buddy for life now he is already planning the next trip
  11. Well done mate great fish and top stuff letting her go
  12. Hey guys been pretty slow up here the last couple of days but been managing a couple of kings at fish rock and some more little blacks here is one we caught today there are some good dollies at the fad to but havnt made it there yet maybe Tom ha ha
  13. Hi Pete with the teaser I luv it use it as soon as I put a lure in the water and even trolling with live baits when game fishing I run the teaser under the short corner and a daisy chain on the other side on a sunny day and clear water the flashes could be seen for ages
  14. Hi paikea the spanner crabs are caught in water from 20 to 50m deep as far as I know u put Pillys in a rectangle flat trap which has netting in the middle of it drop it down on sandy areas and wait an hour they live in the sand and come out and get caught in the net with there spiky armour the cut of point to fish for them is hat head I think they have open and closed seasons on them as well also you can't let them soak for a long time as sharks and mainly turtles love them more than we do ha haAnd as for the boat it is a tabs southerner 5.4 with a 90 Suzuki 4 banger on the backer got the shell and then I set it up how I wanted it with the bait tank and electrics and so on
