  1. Can i ask, in this set up are you using a swivel at end of leader or none at all and just a knot joining leader to main line?? (without swivel would the line twist)
  2. do you drop it straight down and leave it just short of bottom (2m) ? or cast out and let it sink
  3. I'm trying some jigging in a couple weeks off a charter through sydney heads. Gear on the light side with 20pd braid (heavier leader prob 40-50pd) and jigs at 100g and 85g. Hopefully good enough to get down. Been a while between fishing dates to, so quite excited. Thanks for the tips to Chao Be nice to put a report in on some fish too

  8. Hello raiders, Haven't posted or commented (apologies) for quite a while, But read everyone posts every week. Only bit of fame lately is winning the fishraider footy comp ? It's been far and few between trips last few months due to work and having first baby boy who turned 1 yesterday.. So after all the cleaning I decided I need a fish before I head back to work. So hit the bay a little late for a perfect morning on the water. No wind and slow drift, flicked some plastics and not long onto my first bream at 29cm. Stoked as I haven't caught many bream on plastics yet.. Few bumps in between and was about to pack up and move when BANG, this had weight.. After a few dances around the tinny trying not to walk on anything and slip over and a great fight, up came a 45cm Trevally, biggest I've seen or caught personally out of the bay. Great fun. Picked up a 50cm flatly as well not long after. Brother was after quality which he only caught small reddies, porcupine toadfish, grinner, octopus and a squid size of a plastic.. Quite funny.. The bay shut down and time to go. Until next time happy new year and all the best to your families Struggling to work out how to post picture in from my phone.. Post it soon when I figure it out Tight lines Arty9

  19. Raiders: Wet a line a saturday and what nice conditions, especially after rain all friday night. Was very sceptic on what it was going to turn out like for saturday. Probably the opposite to what it was supposed to be. Anyway didnt head out till after 7 first three (almost) fish were Kings on light gear. Yep smoked me everytime, but hell of a lot of fun. They were smashing the old favourite service station frozen prawn. Must be hungry buggers. Had a mate out with me and he landed one in the boat for his first ever king. Undersize, swam for another day. Never had a fight like that before, so excited. After they gone off, tried somewhere else and about to leave when my mate hooked up again to pull in the biggest trevally i have seen come out the bay at 57cms. I may be wrong, but i think its rare to catch them that size inside. I just dropped more fish during the day. Think i need to fish more to get some practice in. Or just one of those days Tight lines raiders Cheers
  20. Hello defyet: I remember seeing ya out their near us, I was the one in the tinny. Got busted off 3-4 times. A few quite words were said to myself before a had a good laugh at it. They kept taking our small lines with just a prawn on it. Hectic fun thou, my mate got one in around 60cms to let him swim off again. Great work on your catch and might see you out there again sometime Arty9
  21. Happy New Year to all raiders, lets hope this one doesn't go so quick Jumped in the tinny the other morning for the first fish session of the year to a beutiful morning on the water First spot no luck, then went a little wider to start finding a few trevallys to play with, while i was just dehooking one, i had my little pumpkin seed on a flick rod hanging in the water about half way down and decided to wind it in to make some room when WHACK off she rannnnn. Did manage to stop it and got it up on the surface about 10m from boat seeing a lovely Kingie around 80-90cm, turn and looked at me and said "youve got no chance" and off it ran again for about 2secs and bit me off. So excited i put out the bigger guns with whole fillet and couple minutes later pulled in my first Botany Bay King (unfortunately only 60cms. Away she swam to for another day. Southerly then blew up and headed in closer. First drop of the squidgy, Whack 69cm flathead PB for the Bay easily. Did keep this one, only because needed a feed and wanted to see if they did taste ok a this size. (just quitely, it was pretty good). Happy now, anymore that size will fight another day. Until next time, all the best for the year
  22. You gotta love great conditions on a weekend.. Top catch.. Love the flathead fillets
  23. Hello raiders, whats Doing? Got out on sunday morning for a dabble. Got off to a very slow start with nothing happening fish wise..Think the conditions were to good, no wind, water like glass, perfect serenity. Did a move and me mate picked a nice Trev at 44cm after nice fight. Have to admit havent seen a trev come out of the bay any bigger than that myself, but im sure some stonkers have bee caught at sometime inside. anyway picked up a feed of trevs, flatty and flounder by the end for the BBQ. Cheers guys
