  1. Freezing/ thawing/ dumping bycatch would be very little effort when considering the big $$$ that would be gained by selling all the bycatch. Six months ago it wouldnt have been worth the effort as there was no publicity surrounding imported fish. But the polluted metung catfish have been prominent in all forms of media over the past few weeks, so this is the prime time to cash in on it. You get public outrage at wasted local fish and the pollies will sit up and listen and the pros know this. There is no better way to get the regulations changed. The publicity gained from every kg of fish on that beach is worth 10 times that of every kg they keep for sale.
  2. It would be interesting for some one to test the fish on the beach to see if they all died within a few hours of each other, I'm guessing they didnt. That's a lot of by catch for just one occassion, I'm guessing most of it was frozen and thawed prior to being dumped. They are out there every day but you dont see tons of dead fish every day of the week, but just now with all the public interest on imported polluted catfish, all this top grade fish ends up dead on a very popular beach. Just a bit too coincidental for me.
  3. Unless you have a part failure like the water pump then you have no come back when an engine over heats. I had the same thing happen to a honda which was less than 12 months old. I didnt even get a warning buzzer, light or noticable reduction in water through the tell tail. The engine overheated causing the head to crack and no more honda. Reps from honda came out and checked the water pump etc and found the system to be working so it was put down to some thing caught around the intake. The dealer even told me that it was possible for the engine to overheat with no buzzer/light indicator being triggered . The engine was written off but luckily I was able to claim it on my insurance. The honda rep and dealer said they have never seen it happen to another model. I have known a few guys who have cooked engines and none were able to claim warranty unless a water circulation fault was found. Buzzers or not, you cook an engine and no warranty will cover you.
  4. Id say its Jessica Simpson, not in that bikini
