  1. Well done on the blacks dale... i saw a bunch fishing with Little Audrey!
  2. I've used a dremel before... just make sure you use a reinforced cutting disc and wear eye protection, those discs have a habit of letting go.
  3. I don't like the look of that mate, you can get something alot nicer for your money. I'd go out on a few boats and spend some time getting a feel for boats before you take the plunge. It may even be wise to borrow a little money so you can spend $3000 or so which will get you a much SAFER more seaworthy craft. Cheers Sammy
  4. Hi Greg, the graphite powder is an excellent lubricant as it disintegrates under pressure into microscopic balls of carbon, think tiny ball bearings as opposed to sliding on grease. It definately wont scratch the male section.
  5. Moisten it with some salt water, then squeeze it into a doughy pea size ball around the hook.
  6. I find the best combination is to run 4 lures. Two divers and two skirts or hybrids. This season the most sussesful lures have been the Rapala CD7's in redhead and blue mackeral, and pink christmas trees. I've also had some success running the Pakula Dojo 4" hybrids in lumo and pink. cheers sam
  7. Hi Greg, I have a number of two piece rods, including a few Tcurve two pieces that lock up after fishing and prove very difficult to separate. I have found the best solution is some talcum powder, or dry graphite lubricant. I have tried wax, grease and lanolin spray but they all seem to bind up once they have sat in the sun for a day and the wax/grease melts away and almost forms a glue. cheers Sam
  8. from now... about 3 months...
  9. Take your kwells and be patient.
  10. The best sites are not free unfortunately. I use www.seasurface.com which is a fantastic site that gives very detailed SST and Clorophill charts every day, the other option are more professional "Remko" charts that are quite costly but offer more details.
  11. Have a look at the Rapala Braid concept rods. Cheap, and nice components
  12. Hi Mate, The best way to learn this caper is to join a Game fishing club and crew on a boat for a few trips. What you will learn is invaluble, better than any book or video will teach you. Short of that, jump on an experienced game fishers boat for a few days and ask lots of questions! cheers Sammy
