I'd have a guess that maybe near the boat moorings near the boat ramp might be worth a shot for livies. Haven't tried myself though. I've only fished upstream generally past the marina. The flats are a pretty good bet for whiting on surface lures and lots of bream around the edges.

Cheers thanks for the tips guys. I've heard plenty about kings near Spit Bridge. Is it the boat morings you need to target there?

Hey Guys, After a recent move I now have the beautiful Sydney Harbour as my local waterway. Problem is, I've never fished it before so I neither know of any decent spots or the hazards of taking a kayak out on certain stretches of the Harbour. I'm really only after chasing kings or similar prized bycatch (don't want to sound like a wanker but I've already found my estuary spots!). I've been scoping out the boat ramp at Manns Pl, Greenwich, which looks promising and there looks to be some decent structure within paddling (or peddling since its a Hobbie) distance from the ramp. Just have a few questions I'm hoping you guys can help me with: - Am I completely mad trying to get around on the Harbour in a kayak?!? - Can you fish around the pylons in Snails Bay? Do they hold Kings? - Are there much better spots in the Harbour accessible by kayak that hold Kings? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We've all had those days! Few weeks back went yak fishing with a mate. Long story short he rolled his kayak about 50m from the ramp with 3 of my good rods on board. The following day we returned with snorkelling gear to attempt the salvage to no avail. Then proceeded to lock my keys in the car after I had loaded everything but the yaks onto the roof. Luckily there was a pub nearby to call NRMA as phone was in the car, along with the wallet so couldn't even buy a beer!

Hi Raiders, Heading to New Zealand for work in a few weeks. I'll be based in Auckland for first couple of days then making my way through the centre and down to Wairoa. Pretty keen to get a couple of days fishing in. Any tips/recommendations for charters in those areas? Or anywhere on the North Island for that matter. Would dearly love to get among some of these massive NZ kings I keep hearing about! Cheers, Hamsy
