  1. Hey! i was thinking of getting the old man a new fishing reel for his Christmas present. His current reels are a bit old and lately noticed him nagging on how he has had problems with them. im going to get him a reel that is suitable for surf fishing and fishing off breakwalls. Also maybe something in the $50-$100 price range Any ideas fishraiders on which reels?
  2. Hey doi, i live in around fairfield and chippo is very close. never fished it. might give it a go sometime soon, don't have to go very far haha. what did you use? just soft plastics?
  3. I'm not exactly too sure what species is that but does look like barracudas. By the way. How is the port kembla breakwall? i havent been there in years! still good fish? a lot of people still go there?
  4. Where were you fishing from IVZ350? caravan park or right at the inlet?
  5. Hey boys, I thought i might try morning fishing tomorrow at the Georges River. Never fished in the morning before. High tide is around 9.30am tomorrow morning as well. Just wanted to know if you fellas have had success of morning fishing during the early mornings and also when is best to fish? (high tide? change of tide?) Cheers, Dave
  6. Yeah same i've caught plenty of these but never really toko them and tried eating. Since you guys said they're good eating, i'll give it a go next time i catch these fellas. Any size/bag limit for this fish? Cheers, Dave
  7. Yesterday afternoon old man, a mate and myself went up to the breakwall at swansea. Got our rods set up and got lines into the water around 6pm. first fish we caught was a bream. There was a few blokes on the rocks that came over to us after we landed that fish saying they've been here fishing all day and you guys jst came along and landed one. LOL Next was a salmon, breams and whiting for the next of the night. after ihgh tide peaked, action was almost dead. By 11.30, almost everyone was gone from the breakwall and we decided to end the night as well. Catch for the night: Bream 31cm, 30cm, 29cm, 27cm, 26cm salmon 58cm Whiting 40cm shovelnose ray. didnt measure. All fish were kept for a good feed, except for the shovelnose ray which we put back into the water.
  8. Hey Fishraiders, Will probably head up to Swansea with the old man on tuesday for afternoon and night time fishing onshore. Just want to know if anyones fished there lately and how's the action, what they catch etc. The last time we were there which was earlier this year, we had a great session from the rocks around the bridge and also the breakwall.
  9. WOOOOO awesome catch. sounds like you guys had a blast!
  10. that's a HONKAAA! great catch.
  11. WOOOW looks great! hope you catch a beast of a snapper on it good luck.
  12. LOOOL@ the old asian bloke. down! up! down up!!! quick quick lol. should of given the rod to him
  13. haha. btw was there a lot of people there at picnic point today? might go for a fish tomorrow if the weather isn't rainy
  14. Great Report! nice catch as well and woow at the chunk out of that bream lol.
  15. Had a few hours to spare in the afternoon today so decided to go off to picnic point with some mates. First time there as well. Decided to go up the rocks. saw a few blokes sitting on the glassy area but still decided to go up the rocks. there was a lot of people on the rocks, it's such a mission getting up there. pretty dangerous i thought :S. well sat there for a few hours with the boys. used peeled prawns at the start. heaps of tiny nibbles and pulls but never really big hits. caught a few breams but all undersized so all went back. tried plastics when we were about to leave and no hits. all up quite quiet afternoon. didn't see anybody else pull out anything so was disappointed but had a good time with the boys. Sorry no photos cos undersized fish weren't worth taking pictures off lol.
